im an international student and attending community college
i want to transfer to some of the top schools for business major, and of course, im completely aware of the fact that it is super hard to get into some of the top schools as a transfer student.
Pleae be as harsh as you could possibly be.</p>
<p>Target schools: NYU stern(my dream), emory, cornell AEM, dartmouth(econ), brown(econ), g town Mcdonough, upenn cas(econ, not wharton!)</p>
<p>HS grades in my country : ranked at around 400 out of 431 (no kidding, seriously)</p>
<p>College GPA : 4.0
Total credits at the time of application : 40.5 (only 40.5 credits will be on transcipt and 16 credits will be in the process of being completed.)</p>

<p>Here is my question
They will see 40.5 credits on my transcript, and mid-term reports that says 16 credits are being completed.
All i know so far is that junior standing needs a minimum of 60 credits, and my total credits would be 56.5. If I apply as a sophomore, then 56.5 credits would exceed sophomore standing, while it would not satisfy a junior standing which requires a minimum of 60 credits. Should i apply as a sophomore, or junior?</p>
<p>I will get a good recommendation from one of my closest professor.
In terms of essay, I will focus on an impressive progress of my study, and my life at large.</p>
<p>I would really appreciate it if you guys chance me and give me some advises</p>
