Hi I want to know my chances from transferring from one Uni to another. I just finished my soph. yr of uni at a private uni. After a stressful year, I’ve been debating about transferring for many reasons. The only thing holding me back is my disciplinary history, drug violation(for being in my friends room whos room got searched and bc of what was found everyone was written up) . Long story short, It was a “wrong place, wrong time” but the school wasn’t hearing it and I was found responsible and sanctioned to a drug class and housing probation. for one semester. (I’ve appealed this but waiting to hear back). I ended the year with a 3.43 overall and 3.53 semester gpa, I’m involved in two big organizations on camp and do an internship for one. I’ve been on deans/pres list every semester except my first-semester freshmen yr.(but missed it by .3) , I did a research project that awarded me with a scholarship as well. I’ve never failed room/health check and my record was clean before this and I’ve never been placed on academic probation. What are my chances of transferring with this criteria?
You’ll probably get in, but on your application you should explain yourself for the drug thing, which doesn’t seem to be your fault, so I see no reason for them to deny you for this. The average transfer GPA I believe is around 3.27 so a 3.43 puts you above average which is good, plus your research project.
