I'm new to this site but I wanted to give this thread a shot. I'll chance back anyone! </p>

<p>My top choice is Stanford, but I'm also applying to MIT. Can you chance me for the two? Thanks :) </p>

Class Ranking: 1 / ~300
SAT:2290
SAT II: 780 phys, 800 Math II
I have taken tons of AP and IB courses (by end of senior year, I'll have taken about 15?) And I get 4's and 5's on them all.
I'm also in the IB program and have done very well on those exams so far. </p>

<p>Extracurriculars/Volunteer:
1. President of National Math Honor Society
2. Varsity Cross country grades 9-11
3. Varsity swimming grades 10, 12
4. French National Honor society, national and state french awards, leadership roles in french clubs at school
5. VP of Photography Club
6. organized a 5K for charity (raised nearly $4000)</p>

<p>Gender: Female
Ethnicity: African American
Income Bracket: High
School Type: IB
Hooks: African American
Essays: 8/10? I'm a good writer or so I've been told
Intended Major: Computer Science</p>

<p>I would have no worries if i were you, because you are definitely getting in to Stanford, or MIT :slight_smile: . Good scores, great ECs…Are you applying regular or Early?

<p>Chances are very good but there are no guarantees at the highly competitive schools.</p>

<p>Don’t worry about your stats. They are as good as it is.</p>

<p>Although MIT is a reach for everyone, you being a female AND majoring in science might help you. </p>

<p>Your academic credentials are top notch.
The only concern is that these top colleges are so selective that nobody is guaranteed admission, but you certainly are a competive applicant.
I assume you also have other highly selective colleges on your list, and some less competitive ones for safety.
Best wishes and come back and post which college you’ve selected when you get your acceptances. I’m willing to bet you will have some great choices. </p>

<p>I cant imagine that you wont get into at least a few top notch schools. You almost resemble the “perfect” applicant and the fact that you are pursuing science as a woman will give you another boost. Just make sure your essays are great and you will have great odds at being admitted. Best of luck!</p>
