Chance me for Stanford, Duke, Penn ED, etc! I'll Chance Back!

Hi! I'm an Asian girl from CA. I want to study Neuroscience and do pre-med. I feel like my grades/test scores are great, but my extracurriculars don't really stand out. What are my chances for Stanford, Princeton, Duke, Rice, Vanderbilt, and UPenn (ED for CAS)? I know Stanford and Princeton are reaches for everyone, but do you think I have enough of a chance that I should try applying? Most of the applicants have high scores, and I'm not sure if they'll be impressed by my ecs.

Stats:

GPA: 4.0 (UW), 4.55 (W)
Class Rank: 13/690 (Top 2%)

Letters of Rec: haven't read but probably really good, my teachers and counselor know me well and like me

Other: bilingual (English, Urdu), had a great interview for Penn (ED)

Your ECs aren’t that bad. I know someone at Rice with about the same stats as you, and I think you have a good chance at Duke also. Please chance me back!

What are my chances for Stanford, Princeton, Duke, Rice, Vanderbilt, and UPenn (ED for CAS)?

22% at Stanford
24% at Princeton
58% at Duke
73% at Vandy
67% at Rice
50% at Penn (Early Decision)

Don’t be discouraged too much by the low percent for the top colleges; it’s like that for basically everyone. This assumes that your essays are awesome, etc.

I don’t think your ecs are bad at all! If you can show depth and a passion for them, they should be fine. I think you no doubt have a shot at all these schools and should apply to all of them. You also have a great shot at penn cause if ED so you may not even gave to worry! Good luck!

Chance me back?

15% at Stanford
20% at Princeton
40% at Duke
60% at Vandy
60% at Rice
30% at Penn (Early Decision)

You need a lot of awards in the National level for ivy’s. Your Scores are definitely up there but so are that of the other applicants. Your ec’s also need to be more solid, but decisions depend on your essays.

it seems like you have a pretty good shot for penn early! your scores are high and GPA and rank are pretty good, extracurriculars seem a little lacking, but if you can write good essays to highlight your passions for them you’ll have a good shot. please chance me back!

I really actually do think you look good for Penn ED. Your ECs are consistent with your love of animals and the work you do with foreign languages is a bump. I’d put you at about 70% or higher there. I’d say like 25% at Stanford and Princeton, really high for Vanderbilt and Rice, and about 60% chance for Duke. Good luck!! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1419543-hi-friends-penn-chances.html</a> if you have time!!

I’m certainly no expert. But considering all of the basic admissions stats for all of your schools I’d say:

15-30% for Stanford
20-49% for Princeton
50% for Duke
75% for Vanderbilt
75% for Rice
50% for Penn, more like 60-70% if you apply early decision.

You’ve definitely got strong demographic and extraiccircular stuff going on, and if the schools consider those just as much as your scores and numbers, I’m sure you’ll do great.

GOOD LUCK!

Anyone else-chance me for NYU? I chance back immediately because I’m stuck at the computer all day… :/

15% at Stanford
20% at Princeton
40% at Duke
60% at Vandy
60% at Rice
30% at Penn (Early Decision)

Chance me back at “Will chance back immediately and honestly”

Your EC’s aren’t as bad as you say they are, they actually do stand out. Plus, you show leadership by being President and being the founder of the volunteer program.

Stanford- reach (it is for anyone)
Princeton- reach (same)
Duke- low reach
Vandy- high match
Rice- high match
Penn- low/med reach

Hope this helps, but you have a really strong application, so good luck!!!

69 percent chance of going to a community college

I think you have above average chances at the schools you listed, but Asian from CA will hurt you lol. (I’m in the same boat.) I would say your ec’s could have more depth, so that’s keeping me from saying that you have a great shot at these schools. But you will definitely get into a good one regardless!

Stanford- reach
Princeton- reach
Duke- match?
Rice- definite match
Vanderbilt- match
UPenn (ED for CAS)- low reach?

Good luck! :)

Oh and could you chance me too?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1419966-lets-pretend-i-wrote-something-creative-here.html</a> :)

Why are people giving percentages for chances at Stanford and Princeton? That’s just not right- it depends too much on your rec letters and essays that it’s impossible to chance based on what you listed there (unless, of course, you have a spectacular EC, which you don’t.).
In addition, the chances ppl listed above are simply too high-from what your have now, you chances are slim at Princeton and Stanford. Parchment is very inaccurate-it’s a computer and thus doesn’t know how to judge EC’s. I’m not sure what the animal shelter volunteer program thing is about, but if it’s big, then that’s something that’ll bring your chances up and you should brag about in your app/essay.
From what you present, you are good for Berkeley, but other than that, there are too many subjective factors which make chancing impossible. You are an average applicant for Upenn ED, unless, of course, your essays/recs truly shine among those of other applicants.

You definitely have a shot! You’re academics are Great! EC are really well rounded. You got this

I’d say Stanford and Princeton are reaches
Duke Vanderbilt Rice and UPenn are matches! good luck!!!

Your stats are good, but your SAT is the best thing you have. I’ll be blunt- your EC’s are good but do not demonstrate an esteemed leadership position. Your SAT should get you into Vandy, as they base highly on SAT. Duke is a slight reach, and if you get in, it was your SAT score that got you in. I think Penn is a match, and Stanford and Princeton are high reaches.

Chance me back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1420373-chances-harvard-princeton-duke.html</a></p>

Parchment uses very outdated admissions data. Take their predictions with a grain of salt!
