I’ve heard that Stanford’s deferral rate is quite low when it comes to REA, but as someone who would accept a Stanford acceptance under any circumstances, it’s hard to see the consequences of applying early. It doesn’t seem as though many people who were rejected during the early decisions would be accepted during the regular ones, does it?</p>
<p>I suppose not, but I think the point of deferral is to see how your senior grades are in comparison to your previous grades. If you are confident of your GPA at the beginning of your senior year, go for REA. But if you want to boost it, wait for RD.</p>
