Chance me for Stanford, MIT, Berkeley, and Princeton

Here is some info about me.

I’m an Indian rising senior interested in a CS major.

GPA: 4.0 UW, my school doesn’t use weighted

ACT: 36 on the second try

Senior course load:

  • AP Calculus
  • AP Statistics
  • AP English Language
  • AP Physics
  • AP Microeconomics
  • Honors Latin IV

ECs:

  • Debate Team: I am the president, and my team was a state finalist.
  • Internship: I was an intern this summer at a AI startup. I count this as an extracurricular since it was unpaid.
  • Taekwondo: I'm a first-degree black belt and has competed in many tournaments, one of which I've placed 3rd in.
  • Writing: I've written a fantasy novel which is in the process of being published-I have an agent, have signed with a publisher, and have a paid advance.

Awards:

  • AP Scholar with distinction
  • Gold medal in National Latin Exam.

Be as brutally honest as you want. Thanks.

Are all of them affordable?

For admission only, all reach, except that Berkeley may be a high match if you apply to L&S (instead of CoE EECS which is always a reach), but then you need a 3.3 college GPA in CS prerequisites to enter the L&S CS major.

Did you expect any other answer?

Why do you consider them reaches?

They’re reaches for anyone (in defense of ucbalumnus). If you live in California, then Berkeley is a match/safety with your high scores. If not, you get grouped in a pool of very competitive OOS applicants. Have you worked anywhere or volunteered anywhere? The UC apps stress ECs more than any other app. If you are a legacy to any of these schools your chances increase

I would agree with high match. It seems likely that at least one of these schools will take you, unlikely that you will be rejected from all of them.

Have you looked at UChicago? You seem like someone who would get in.

Why UChicago in specific, ConcernedRabbit?

Mellamousted, I started a cs company last year, but it failed.

I guess not^.

Berkeley is unlikely to be a match or safety. Maybe high match for L&S applicants with top-end GPA. Legacy is not considered at Berkeley or other California public universities.

your extra curriculars are weak. barring star-studded essays and letters of rec, berkeley seems like your best bet

Stanford has a 5% acceptance rate. That means that they reject 95% of their applicants.

Sure, you should apply. You have a greater chance at acceptance than the average applicant. Your ECs look impressive to my untrained eye.

But don’t be disappointed if you don’t get in.
