Started a nonprofit website and we have 300 members signed, it's a new and original idea and i took charge of the whole initiative from conception to advertising

i like solving problems and making an impact on the world, industry, people, etc. i like the startup world and i'd like to major in CS at stanford.

I'd say a good chance. What product did you help develop, if you don't mind me asking?

module for quality compliance software that is being used by fortune 500 companies

i look at other ppls stats who want chances for hyps and they have basically stuffed their app with stuff they're probably not even sincerely interested in (i.e. bunch of jsa, music, honor clubs, key clubs). i remained a logical person through high school and i chose to do things that i sincerely enjoy. i hope my application is not looked down upon because i do not play an instrument or i was not on varsity tennis or some crap like that.

you have a good chance, very good chance. if your just chancing stanford, i'm assuming your applying SCEA?

and palo, just because you play piano/violin and blah blah blah doesn't mean you don't enjoy it. "Although i admit when i started piano, i absolutely hated it. however now i really enjoy playing piano (not praticing, playing).

And why do you think your application has any less weight just because you don't do two of the 10,000,000 different EC's available?

Pretty good chances. Only thing that might hold you back is the fact that you have a low GPA w/ an AP-sparse curriculum. But, you are a USAMO qualifier, which is uber. I give you a 65% chance of acceptance and only because of your GPA/curriculum does it seem a little low. I don't need to tell you that your out-of-school activities are superb! Good luck!

i'm taking 6 APs next yr. my gpa is "low" because of 1st semester junior yr when [I had a medical problem] and i was out of school for 3 weeks + winter break. will colleges take this into consideration?

Yes they will, make sure you have your counselor mention that in his/her recommendation (you should also make a note on your application). Forgot to ask you to chance me back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/539705-yo-chance-dis-indian-kid.html. Thanks if you do!

now what would you say if i said i liked about my stats. gpa is a bit higher, sat and amc both much lower. lol
