I'm a rising junior at a good public school in a Dallas suburb. Here are my stats:

UW GPA: 3.68 (bad, freshman year I slacked off terribly)
PSAT: 207 with absolutely no studying, should be NMF level this year
SAT: 2030, once again without studying, should be 2250 by the time I apply
ECs: Varsity football (lettered as a sophomore at consistent top 10 school in state) and golf
Junior year course load: AP Biology
AP US History
PAP Physics
PAP Algebra 2
AP English Language
PAp Spanish 3

How do my stats look, and what can I do to increase my chances of admission?

if you get the scores you say you’ll get, and if you bring up your GPA, then you’ll be in the ballpark of most Stern admits.

Woah! Texas95! I am interested in Stern also! I am also from a Dallas suburb, McKinney! Crazy small world. I wish I could be more help, but I am in the same ballpark as you.

Top 5% of my class (Ranked 27th)
UW: 3.71 (like we couldn’t be more similar- I didn’t try at all freshmen year either)
W: 4.11
ACT: 32
ECs:
President (and found of my chapter) Future Business Leaders of America
President Debate Club
President Spanish Club
Vice President of Model UN
Dance (outside of school)

Volunteer work with Samaritan Inn, Tutor, and Taught English in China (summer volunteer program)

National Forensics League
National Commended Scholar
National Honor Society
NFL National Tournament qualifier (International Extemp Speaking)

I am wishing you all the best! I hope we both get in

I am a rising senior however. And I am applying Early Decision. I will hopefully remember to follow up on this thread when December rolls around to tell you my outcome and hopefully give you some better advice. If you keep up with AP’s, your GPA can shoot up your Junior year- I really got my act together then.
And your SAT, for a rising Junior, is great!!! If you take a prep class this summer you can get that up a lot (the SAT is all about tricks and outsmarting the test)
However, if you want a fairer shot try the ACT. They actually test stuff you learn in school.

That would be great if you could update us once you get your ED results back. I also do plan on trying the ACT at least once, the worst that can happen is that I do poorly and omit it from my applications. Thanks for responding!
