Chance me for Temple?

I applied to Temple using the common app in early October, and I have yet to get a reply. I applied for undecided engineering. Their engineering program sounded amazing when I visited, but the campus was not at all what I was looking for in a college. If I don’t get into my first two choices, however, Temple will hopefully be my go to because I can just commute. The problem is, I don’t know if I will even be accepted to Temple, so my backup plan isn’t foolproof whatsoever. I didn’t notice when it got so competitive! Please help me out here.

My stats are as follows:

4.45 weighted gpa
3.85 unweighted
1,210 SAT - 590 math, 620 reading and writing
top 20% class rank
I took around 20 honors classes, maybe a few more and 2 AP courses, and I got A’s in both APs.

I participated in a few clubs, played soccer all four years and basketball and softball both freshman and sophomore year. I also work for about 15 hours a week at a local CVS. My common app essay wasn’t great story-wise, but the vocabulary and sentence structures were pretty good, although that might not mean anything if the story and moral were pointless.

So, based on this, do you think I will be able to get into the engineering program? Thanks in advance!

My daughter was accepted with very similar SAT scores and lower GPA. However, she isn’t planning to major in engineering. Your GPA and course rigor are very good but your math SAT score is low for engineering. Did you apply early action or rolling admission? If early action, you should hear within a week (by Jan. 10). I think rolling admission applications will be processed after that date. You can call the admissions office to check on status.
