ACT - 32 x2
GPA - 3.5 unweighted 3.85 weighted, very strong upward trend. (Sophomore year was really bad)
Class Rank - 22%
AP’s - Most likely 9 total, have already passed four with 4’s and 5’s
EC’s and awards - UNICEF club VP, Relay for Life, National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, AP Scholar with Honors worker for Hungarian Red Cross (in Hungary). Worked with Hungarian Order of Malta, helped Hungarian homeless, taught at an English camp and worked at a shop there as well. There’s a couple other EC’s but I can’t remember them right now.
Traveled a ton - around 15 countries, travel to Hungary every year (dual citizen - read and write Hungarian).

George Washington

UNC
Boston U and Boston College
Northeastern
Tulane
Emory ED1 (just main campus)

SHOW LOTS OF INTEREST IN YOUR FIRST CHOICES! That will make all the difference in the world, Also talk a lot about the Hungarian Order of Malta. Good luck!
Do you really think that I am a low reach for Emory even though I have a really low GPA? I think I wrote a very good personal statement on travel and how it has influenced me, so I guess that might help. I just think the GPA will really hurt, but at least there is an upward trend throughout high school.
For Emory and the other low reaches you can break through if you show lots of interest. You are on the lower part of the middle 50% of USC, BC, Tulane and Emory. That’s not terrible. Give it all you got, tailor your app to the things the schools are really interested in, and emphasize your uniqueness.

Hope this helps, unfortunately you GPA does hurt you. Can you retake for the ED1 deadline. A 32 is avg for Emory, however a great Essay and a Campus visit will increase your chances, but a think a 33 would help you more.
Agree with VANDEMORY1342 that the GPA will have to be compensated for with slightly higher standardized tests, high demonstrated interest, and I will add an emphasis on unique life experiences that can enrich the student body. A final thought – you will definitely go somewhere that will allow you to be whatever in life you want to be. Remember that. Best of luck!
