Hi all,

I am a new member here. :) I am actually a sophomore at Penn State University majoring in Finance. I was born in the US but I grew up in Morocco, so I write and speak fluently Arabic, French and English.

This semester I decided to apply for transfer at 5 universities which are : Cornell, University of Pennsylvania, MIT, University of Michigan, and University of Virginia.

These are my grades since my freshman year :

I am working at Penn State's Library (since May 2013) 19-20 hours per week. I am also the vice-captain of the school's intramural soccer team. I am an active member of the African Association in my university, and a member of a local organization that promotes intellectual, cultural activities and helps needy families.

Anyways, I am waiting for your replies and thank you in advance for your kind assistance everyone.

I forgot to mention that I graduated second of my high school and I was first on the national exam of Mathematics with a score of 100/100.

Anyone ? :)

Bump…

I will Chance back anyone who chances me :)

Those are some very competitive schools that you’re applying to. But hey, your chances at getting in are the same as your chances of getting in. That can mean whatever you want it to mean.

Good luck!

PS- no need to bump every half hour. If you’re gonna bump, do it every few days or so.

Alright, thanks for your reply. I would have preferred if you told me which ones you think are accessible with the information I gave.

Sorry for the bumps, I didn’t know that.

OK Thanks. I met the GPA requirement for the Smeal College of Business (3.5 for Finance Majors), so I am just applying to these universities to see if I can get accepted to any of them. I will post the results once they reply in couple months I guess.

Anyone else ?

Bumpy bump.

You should look to see if grades transfer or just credits. Also, nothing you did in high school really matters at this point.

I don’t know much about the other schools but I live very close to Cornell. I do know I have never met a person with lower than a 3.5 who has been accepted and their statistics on accepted students shows a low rate of students accepted with a GPA lower than 3.5. SO you barely make that minimum requirement. However, extracurricular activities and school affiliated employment will DEFINITELY help you. Cornell likes a lot of extra involvement.
