Chance me for this university please. =) (French applicant)

Troll, I doubt anyone representing France has scored perfect marks on either the IMO or the IPhO for many years.

It's not anyone it's SomeOne. lol
And yap for many years.

But there's Vincent Lafforgue for example who marks a perfect score twice. ;) (The brother of a Fields Medal Winner.)

Don't mention the piano. If you have not played a real piano, it doesn't count as playing. Really. Honestly, if you claim to play piano after having practiced on a paper keyboard, I cast doubt on the rest of your accomplishments (I know, you can't afford a real piano, but that doesn't mean you play piano), though, if your stats are true, they are quite impressive. Good luck.

I love the "Mensa Member" line at the end. It just caps everything off :) Have you already applied? Because if you did, my hopes of getting in are slowly declining... :)

er qian and liang qian are both acceptable, and interchangeable.
That's all I have to say.

I'm sorry but your stats are WWWAAAYYY to good to be true. I highly doubt that they are real. It is especially suspicious that this is your first thread...

hmm

gold medal winners ipho from france 06: 0
' ' 07: one

gold medal winners imo from france 06: one (diff name)
' ' 07: one (diff name)

i can go back further... yes, i have too much time on my hands. go, internet, go.

dude, I have never heard any chinese person say er instead of liang
so ur wrong.

au revoir peace out

The IMO has about 3-4 perfect scores internationally a year. The IPhO too, I think. We're not just talking a gold medal here, but a 42.. I don't have any idea who you are, and when I looked up the records, I don't think I even found any french kids who have done this in the past four years, so I guess you don't exist. Hypothetically, if such a person exists, he would pretty much already be one of the strongest Harvard applicants this year.

That's about as outrageous an argument as me claiming:
"No, you are wrong, because all people who are too damn lazy to type "you're" instead of "ur" are mentally deficient. Thus, they should not be taken seriously."

How can you get such a high score? Are you just kidding? I hope not, cause I am taking this seriously.
By the way, Chinese certainly say liang qian liu bai 2600, though you can say er bai or liang bai for 200. And you cannever say liang shi It's just a part of Chinese oral rule. Again I am taking this seriously

Hey kwu, let me tell you something. In today's fast paced society with all kinds of shorthand for textmessaging and Instant messaging, it is more and more efficient to use shorthand. If you don't like it, fine. It's OK to be a caveman in the Stone Age.

kwu:
your comparison is flawed, because "er" is not a "short-hand" of "liang." they're just used in different usages and contexts. i see the point phillyboy23 is making and i was thinking about the same thing when i saw his response, though that is not sufficient for us to conclude that he is a total joker.
the IMO/IPHO evidence is much stronger and has convinced me that there are some people... out there... who... dont like CC, and we should help those other countries such as france.

and phillyboy23 theres no need to curse each other back to stone age.

I wasn't trying to curse nobody. With languages, you speak and listen to other people's conversations. That's how you learn them. I do not think I am making a ridiculous argument because that's what I hear in the real world.
Also, I am thinking that it is interesting for students in France to come to America for studies. They do not have to pay a single cent for college in France. Why pay the 40+K here when it's all covered by the government?

I love how some people took this thread seriously. CC strips common sense...

TROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLL!!!HAHA

@phillyboy23

Why do people from all over the world want to go to HYP etc. even though some of them (France, Germany) don't have to pay anything? Because the Top US-Universities are better than those in France and Germany even though Germany has some of the best in Europe excluding UK. Why are they "better"? Because they charge so high tuition fees and have way more resources. Additionally the reputation that attracts top profs and students which eventually makes the university what it is.

xXSomeOneXx,
It's quite obvious you're lying about your perfect SAT score because you still make many mistakes in english. For example, you can't say ''in the internet.'' If you don't know simple grammar rules like that, you would have made mistakes on the critical reading and writing SAT.

Setarkos, do you even know anything about French Universities? the grandes ecoles are some of the best in the world. In France, only the best universities are free.

Even though Harvard is a crapshoot and even more a crapshoot since you're an international, I'd say you have a 70% chance of getting accepted since you stats are absolutely breathtaking.

Good Luck!
