Chance Me For Top Competitive Colleges Please =)

Hi, I'm a high school senior (male) from the Bay Area, specifically the 510, where we call it the Yay, who is interested in the following colleges and I would appreciate any opinions regarding my chances. My standardized test scores are quite low, and I don't have too many ECs or any of that, going by College Confidential standards, of course. And also, if anyone has any more suggestions of schools for me to look at, let me know! My major is currently undecided.

Colleges:
UC LAney
Merritt College
College of Alameda
UC Berkeley City College
Chico State University
Harvard College
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Yale University
Bangkok University
UC Davis
UC Los Angeles

Me:
Persian-American Male
SAT : 690 CR, 650 W, 650 M (1990 all together)
ACT : 29 (94th percentile)
GPA : 3.7 unweighted, 4.3 weighted (It should be a bit higher by now, my grades so far this year have been pretty good)
Ranking : Top 2.58%

Senior Schedule:

I was an advanced math student throughout high school (Advanced Algebra, Math Analysis, Statistics, Calculus AB+BC, 5 classes in 4 years). I chose not to take AP English this year, but still plan on taking the AP test. I would have taken English honors classes as well if my school offered them. I'm very well behaved, never mess around in class, and have a pretty good reputation among teachers and fellow classmates.

Fall grades:
Statistics AP-A
Government AP-A
English P-A
Physics II AP-A
Calculus BC AP-B+
Ceramics-A
Yearbok-A

Other:
Summer program at UC Berkeley in 9th and 10th grade (college preparation)(got recommendation from a teacher from the program)
Summer Sessions at UC Berkeley - Took the course, Statistics II, with college students and got an A

My recs shoud be outstanding, and I have no record of any disciplinary action, though once I thought that I was being called to the office for littering and throwing a peach onto the roof but that turned out to be a miscommunication. The quandary was later resolved.
I think my essay is pretty good, fo sho, I've always been told I was a excellent writer.
According to all of that stuff, do I have a chance at my chosen colleges? Thank you!

Those are some top notch schools there umm if I were you I'd buckle up and do some extra curriculars. I disagree with lowcard02 its not going to be that easy. Hope that helped.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I will definitely take your opinions into consideration. :)

have you had any employment or awards?

lowcard02: I just happen to have severals.

have you considered writing about those in relation to a talent?

well, i actually did write one about a talent for my uc apps already. if u would consider yearbok a talent, that is.

harvard-wouldnt spend the money but its possible, same for MIT and Yale (well maybe not MIT since your math is good)

What's with the random application to Bangkok U?

Yea, I too was wondering about that. Are you actually interested in the school?

Well, I should have probably mentioned this earlier, but I was actually born in Bangkok, Thailand. Later on, my parents moved around quite a bit, and I lived in Venezuela, Milwaukee(WI), and finally, Oakland,CA, which is where I currently reside.

Anyways, to get to the point, my father did a bit of studying in Thailand and has encouraged me to do the same. I'm sorta thinking American colleges that I would like to attend, as well. Perhaps, I'll study abroad in my junior year in college, but I just want to keep my options open.

California Schools I think you should be good
Harvard Yale MIT are all reaches (but they are for everyone lol)
Bangkok U. yeah no idea about this one haha.

ouch @ the pessimism. But yeah with your current standardized scores I don't see you getting into your super reaches.

i'm not sure if this would help, but i recently signed up for the december sats, and i am expecting much better scores than last time.

hahah wow. ok don't pay attention to the pessimistic one. you have a chance at any of those schools in my opinion. Just do your best on your personal statement.

Don't listen to those who give you negative feedback lol they don't decide who gets accepted where; they're not part of admissions.

I know someone who got into UCLA with a 2.8 because they had a very dynamic personal statement. Again, just do your best! :)

yeah, i agree. don't be let down by negative people. just give it your best shot!

Wow, I'm sorry about what happened to your cat.

You know, I was actually involved in an accident a few months ago involving a deer, but it's probably not the same.

one time i knocked my pottery off my desk and it landed on my red herring

Sorry to hear about your pet herring.
