Chance Me For Top CS Schools

I think that you shouldn’t have too much of an issue getting into any of the UCs or USC. Mudd is probably a low reach. MIT, CalTec, Stanford, and Cornell are reaches (as they are for everyone) but I think your certainly qualified and have a good of a shot as any.

I don’t know enough about the other schools to intelligently chance you.

can you tell me about your non-profit??

We have raised about 10000 dollars and donated to after school activities for elementary students in low income schools. We work with these groups to ensure the money helps them

You are a perfect candidate for all of the above schools. However, due to the subjectivity of the admissions process and the luck associated with it for the colleges with low acceptance rates, every single person is labeled a reach applicant (for MIT, CalTech, Stanford, Cornell, UPenn, and Harvey Mudd. Good luck tho! I predict that you will get into the majority of the above colleges, as well as some of the reaches.

Is my GPA, barely being in the top 10% at around 8 or 9% affect me too much at the top schools?

You are a strong candidate for all the school. Nuances—I would expect that it will come down to letters for schools like MIT and Cal Tech because they will want to know if you have that added “it”-potential to innovate, etc. I would be surprised if you did not get into Cornell. Depending upon where you are from, I’d think you could get into Stanford-esp if you are west coast-I think you are. CMU will want to see high interest as they will fear you’ll prefer MIT, CalTech, Stanford. Penn-probably.

So mainly make sure my essays and letters are strong? I think they are pretty good, but no way to know sure for the letters of recs.

Your stats look good. Doing EA or RD matter for some of these schools like GA Tech. If you are an EA applicant, you have higher chances of getting in.
