My AP Scores, GPA, and extracurricular aren't that special compared to other applicants'... I'm worried omg

A recent conversation between my friends and I started out by sounding somewhat like this:
“I can’t believe that we’re gonna be seniors!”
“I think I’ve got a case of senioritis.”
“Senioritis? Pssh, I’ve had that since freshman year! I’ve got yellow fever now.”
Our whimsical chat soon evolved into a more serious discussion, when one of my friends asked me, “Have you thought about where you’re going to apply to college?”
I had answered with a few choices; most were universities that my overly protective parents had chosen for me, but I wasn’t too sure myself. Although the overwhelming majority of kids my age had chosen their destinations of choice, I had a difficult time imagining myself in possible future settings. After our little excursion to the local mall, I returned home and contemplated everything in the safe recesses of my shower. I thought about my future, and thought about it again. Where did I want to go, and would my choices be approved by my parents?
The rest of the day sped by, and I found myself face-planted onto my bed with the AC on full blast- My ideal sleeping conditions. Sooner or later, I rose to go to the bathroom. Yet for some reason, I grabbed a toothbrush and a tube of toothpaste instead, and faced the mirror.
That’s when things got weird.
I saw the reflection of my older brother as he walked out of the bathroom closet, and announced to me, “Go to Colgate, bro.”
I’d seen some flyers and advertisements for the school, but hadn’t done a substantial amount of research on the topic so far. I questioned his order.
That’s when things got even weirder.
A voice coming from the toothpaste in my hand casually whispered, “Just trust him. He likes big butts, so he cannot lie.”
Alarm clocks have the terrible habit of interrupting my dreams, and that was to no exception on that day.
I aggressively flailed out of bed, shut off the AC, and walked to the bathroom for my morning routine. I noticed that our toothpaste was of the Colgate brand, which I found ironic. When I noticed my brother sitting at the kitchen table, I gave him a strange look, which he was confused about.
Later on, I did a thorough examination on Colgate University, and begged my parents to let me tour the campus. Just from scrolling through the website, I felt as if I had found my perfect school, although it was a tad bit too selective for my tastes.
The tour only helped to reinforce my budding fascination for the University.
Now, when friends ask me where I want to go for my undergraduate degree, I can proudly proclaim that Colgate is my first choice.

Tufts: reach
Colgate: reach
Northeastern: match
Brandeis: high match

That makes me feel a lot better, ty

Actually, I think scderek4 overstated a bit.

Tufts: Out of reach.
Colgate and Brandeis: Reach
Northeastern: High match

I don’t think Brandeis is taking too many kids will sub-700’s on all three sections and Northeastern is getting harder every year.

^I agree with Soze. I’ve seen kids on CC.com with 3.6+ GPA and 2100+ SAT get wait listed at Brandeis, so that’s more of a reach for you. Your stats are very average for Northeastern, but with its acceptance rate in the low-30s, nothing is a guarantee.

Anyway, if I were you I would definitely apply to Brandeis, Colgate, and Northeastern, and perhaps find a less selective reach.

Best of luck! :)

Yeah, these aren’t the only schools I’m applying to.
UMass Amherst, and MCPHS are easy to get into, according to their stats. But I’m just desperate to get even waitlisted to Colgate, eh.

Also, my cousin who had an SAT score of 1780 and a GPA of 3.9 got into Brandeis, but I dunno if I’ll be as lucky.
