I am currently a junior in high school, and it's been my DREAM to go to U Chicago or Rice. These are my stats right now.

Unweighted GPA: 3.8
Weighted: (my school doesn't weight GPA's but I calculated this on my own. 4 for regular courses. 5 for honors. 6 for college): around 4.8-4.9

Junior Year Workload:
Calculus 1&2 (taking from a college in my town). I got an A in calculus one, and I'm currently doing calculus 2.
College Chemistry
College Anatomy
AP World History
AP language&comp
Chamber Orchestra
Symphony Orchestra

AP Exams I'm planning on taking: AP world, AP Lang, Ap Chinese (self studying), AP Biology

ACT: 33. Only took once. Retaking soon.
SAT: 1910. Absolutely bombed the first time. DEFINITELY retaking that.

Extracurricular activities: My school's chamber orchestra and symphony orchestra, my town's professional youth orchestra, a student government at my school (probably will be president senior year), Speech team, Knowledge bowl (like a brain bowl/trivia thing), Math team (president most likely senior year), cheerleading (most likely senior year), cross country (sophomore year. quit because of injury), Link Leaders

Volunteer: I volunteer at a local hospital. Right now, I have almost 50 hours. By the time I do my college apps, I should have over 100.

Gender: Asian Female

Awards: Most likely will be National Merit Commended Student. Won a few awards here and there for science and math. Went to State for Math team spring of sophomore year. (not sure about Junior or Sr year yet obviously). Placed at some speech tournaments.

Other: I get lots of letters from U Chicago, MIT, Yale, and U of Minnesota and I've gotten letters in the past from Brown, Amherst, Emory, and Tulane. I'm not sure what this means....

I know I have a long way to go at these prestigious colleges, but I just want to know, what should I bring up or try to do to get into U Chicago and Rice? These schools mean the world to me.

Thanks (:
