Chance me :) For U of VIRGINIA

Rigor: 9-10gr. all honors at public school, but this year (11gr.) I changed schools to the county's IB center to complete the two-year IB Diploma Programme, so for 11-12 gr. I am taking all IB courses.
GPA: 4.0 unweighted 4.68 weighted (school's scale)
Class Rank: 16 out of 450 approx.
SAT: 1970 (640 reading/670 math/640 writing)

ACT: 30 (34 english/28 math/28 reading/28 science)

Extracurriculars: Secretary of Senior Class (Student Council), Secretary of YMCA Leaders' Club (service club) 9-11gr., Church youth group and Church choir 9-11gr.
Sports: Color guard 9-10gr., Field hockey 11-12gr.,
Service: 100 volunteer hours every year 8-11gr. through Leaders' Club; plus IB has the CAS program during 11-12gr. (25 hours of creativity, 25 hours of action/sports, 25 hours of service)
Talent: Made top choir in high school

Honors: Inducted into High School's National Honor Society, selected for and attended the High School Diplomats Program at Princeton

Alumni: Uncle and Aunt attended UVA, parents went to JMU/VCU
Residence: Richmond, VA
Race/Gender: White, Female

You will prob get in, ur in state which raises ur chances a lot plus u have really good gpa and act.

I would try the ACT or SAT one more time during fall of senior year. You will have a very good chance if you have higher test scores--btw how does a 4.0 unweighted rank 16??

4.0 could be 16th if 15 people also have a 4.0 but also have a higher than 4.68 weighted.

yeah, the people above me have a 4.689 or higher... somehow the IB kids get an extra decimal place on their GPA grrrr

also, people not in IB who took one more honors class than me got a 4.85 weighted rather than a 4.68. I think most of us have a 4.0 unweighted GPA because the whole upper 10% of our class gets straight A's

high class rank, good ecs, good enough test scores, in-state... you'll probably get in. write decent essays and get a good recommendation.
