Chance me for UC Berkeley, Northwestern, Stanford etc.

I am an international student in my senior year doing the IB Diploma.

I am planning to major in Economics/Finance and I will be applying to the following colleges:

UC Berkeley
UCLA
UCSD
Stanford
Northwestern
NYU
Michigan
UT at Austin

My stats:

SAT: 1410 (Math: 740, English: 670) (Retook it this October, probably close to 1500 this time)
SAT II: N/A
Unweighted GPA: N/A (My school does not calculate unweighted GPA)
Weighted GPA: N/A (My school does not calculate weighted GPA)
Class Rank: N/A (My school does not rank)

During my freshman and sophomore years, I did the IGCSE course (International General Certificate of Secondary Education).

In the external (official) IGCSE exams at the end of my sophomore year I ended up with 8 A* and 2 A (I took the toughest subjects possible e.g. Computer Science, Economics, Triple Award Science).

IB Prediction: 43-44/45

Senior Course Load (Prediction):
IB English HL (6)
IB Economics HL (7)
IB Computer Science HL (7)
IB Maths SL (7)
IB Physics SL (7)
IB French SL (6/7)
Theory of Knowledge & Extended Essay (3 bonus points)

No semester grades below an A with exception to two B’s (in English) in my freshman and sophomore years.

Extracurricular Activities:

Varsity Basketball (9th, 10th, 11th & 12th grades) Approximately 500 hours in total over four years.
Varsity Soccer (9th, 10th, 11th & 12th grades) Approximately 500 hours in total over four years.
Varsity Tennis (9th & 10th grades) Approximately 200 hours in total over two years.
I played the piano for 10 years.

Internship/Work Experience:
250+ hours of interning in the finance departments of two different companies over two different summers.

Volunteer Work:
Organised multiple events to raise money for charity.
For example, I organised a basketball tournament involving hundreds of participants and raised close to 4000 euros.
150+ hours of math tutoring.
100+ hours spent in creating and implementing a recycling project for my school to reduce my school’s waste emissions and recycle the maximum amount of waste possible.
100+ hours of environmental work such as beach cleanups and tree planting.

My essays: In progress, but they seem to be good based on feedback so far.

Letters of recommendation: No idea.

Based on this information, do I have a decent chance of getting accepted into any of the colleges I listed?

Any reply would be much appreciated.

For Berkeley, you’d have to get your SAT up, write killer essays and demonstrate a variety of ECs that support your community.

The UC’s give no financial aid to out of state or international students. Can you afford to pay $50,000+ per year for four years?

Your SAT is in range for all the UC’s on your list, but low for Stanford (think 1500+) and even then Stanford would be a Reach school. The UC’s definitely look possible.

25th - 75th percentiles for SAT:

UCB: 1280-1490

UCLA: 1280-1500
UCSD: 1250-1470

Best of luck.

I do not need financial aid, I can cover the costs myself.

Since you have letter grades, you can calculate your uwGPA. If you have 5% in B, your GPA is around 3.95.
Mid 50 SAT for UMich is 1350-1530. You are below average right now and it would be a reach.

Wait, how are we supposed to chance you with only a 1410 SAT, no GPA, and no class rank? :-??

My school is an IB school, it does not calculate GPA or rank. However, by my calculations, my UW GPA is around a 3.95 and I know for a fact that I am in the top 10% of my class.

No chance for Stanford, High Reach Berkeley, Low Reach UCs

These are all possible reach schools. You should definitely include a few safety schools in that list, or you could be heading to a forced gap year. You don’t want that.
