Chance Me For UC Berkeley

I am currently a sophomore and I am seriously considering UC Berkeley (MIT, Caltech, and Stanford are reach schools) as my college of choice for a major in physics. I have not yet taken the SAT or ACT, however on a practice test that I took my projected ACT score was a 33.

I have my class schedule planned out, and I will enroll in the IB Program. My GPA will likely be around 3.8 unweighted and 4.7 weighted.

Freshman Year:
Trig/Precalc Honors
Spanish I
Pre Diploma World History Honors
Pre Diploma English I Honors
Theatre I (to meet my high school's fine art credit requirement)
Physics First Honors

Sophomore Year:
Astrophysics Honors (Dual enrollment)
AP Statistics (I put off Calc BC due to the way IB works)
Biology I Honors
Pre Diploma Spanish II
Pre Diploma English II
Pre Diploma US History (basically APUSH)
*I would have taken AP Physics, but my school cut it

Junior Year:
Math HL II (Basically Calc BC)
English HL III
IB Spanish III
Gov/Econ SL
Chem HL I
Computer Science SL

Senior Year:
Math HL I (I am required to take it)
Calculus III (Dual Enrollment)
English HL IV
Spanish IV SL
Chem HL II
Theory of Knowledge (required)

My extracurriculars include Science Olympiad, the school chess club, the stock market club, the environmental club, and the physics club. I might do Math Olympiad next year, but I might overload with this combined with my job.

Thank you for any input! Feel free to ask any questions.

Too early to chance, especially without the test scores (I think the projected test scores are often incorrect). But since you’re a sophomore, start crafting your “story,” pick up a unique EC so you’re not one of the thousands of people who only do math-y/science-y clubs, and try to get some leadership positions in your junior and/or senior year. Also, figure out which SAT IIs you’re going to take and start studying for those.
You probably know this already, but UC Berkeley uses the UC GPA, which is different than a weighted GPA, so you may want to calculate your UC GPA and see how you measure up in that.
Also, if your school doesn’t offer AP Physics, have you considered self-studying it?

If you get a 33, Berkeley would be a high match
