Hello! I really am in need of knowing what my chances for getting into UCI are, I’ve been doing extensive research of the alumni they accept, and I’m just not sure exactly how big my chance of getting in is. Any and all chance replies are extremely appreciated, for I am sending in my application soon.
-I’m Asian(if that helps at all).
-Lived in Thailand for my freshmen and sophomore year of high-school (attended a private international school there)
-Roughly 3.822 weighted GPA
-Currently in the top high school in my state, which is known for its strong program, and is now nationally recognized. It’s a dual-credit school, so I am also currently in college, and have over 40 college credits.
Honors:
-National Honors Society Member
-Made the Dean’s List in my college(must earn a 3.9 GPA for one year in order to get on it).
-Phi Theta Kappa member (a nationally recognized college honor society)
ECs:
-I have studied Thai, Chinese, and Spanish. Thai specifically I have studied for 3 years, Chinese 2, and Spanish 1.
-I played varsity basketball and volleyball, of which my team for volleyball placed second in its city tournament, and basketball third.
-I was a percussion member in band, and we went and performed for Webster University in Thailand.
-I have over 50 community service hours(probably will finish with over 100 by the end of senior year).
-I was a delegate of the Model United Nations, and a member of its “Security Council”.
–I was a member of student council in grade 9 and 10. I was elected my grade’s representative for both years.
-I have earned a computer literacy certification (IC3 GS4).
-Won a writing contest in my school(not sure if this helps at all, but can’t hurt to state it).
Other:
-Currently my SAT score(just reading+math) is 1,150 out of the 1600 scale. With the writing section it is 1650. That was my first attempt however, and I am retaking the SAT in November and December, score will most likely increase.
- I have taken the ACT, however, that test really isn’t suited for me and I prefer the SAT more.
-As for my family’s background, the highest degree my father earned was an Associate’s from San Jose City College, and my mother has only gone as far as to gain her high-school diploma.
-I did take art, history of music, and other courses similar in order to be “well-rounded”.
