Chance me for UCBerkeley

Hello there,

Someone help me with my stats and chances?

  1. currently asian-canadian high school senior with us citizenship
  2. currently hold 92% grade 9-12 average in ontario with no IB in an ib school fast-tracked my courses (finished all g12 main course-eng/sci/math in g11) since my school does not offer honors nor APs, I figure I would just fast track... Technically I could've graduated in 3 years, but I wanted a Specialized High School Major in Business as well (needs special requirements), so I chose to stay for 4.
  3. AP chinese 5, AP bio 4, AP calc AB 3/BC 2 (pretty bad calc mark cuz I self studied all of them (ignore chinese)...)
  4. ec include approx 300 volunteer hours with the town i live in, president of science related club/executive of language related club (founder of both)/ possibly hospital experience or business experience (not sure yet because g12 hasnt started)
  5. definitely considering going into meds/surgical (yah pretty confident about this choice ever since 6 years old...)
  6. second choice would be business (hold Specialized High School Major in Business-university level)]
  7. SAT 1 one try 1450/1600 (r/w 660, math 790), SAT 2 MATH 2 780/800, SAT 2 CHEM 720/800, SAT 2 BIO 720/800
  8. JHU summer mini term in neuroscience/psychology 2 college credits (B+/satisfactory)

Also, UCB is my top 1 choice (please tell me chance for UCB). However, I am still trying to figure out an ED school since UCB doesnt have ED… (probably another reach school which i am also interested in). State is not a huge problem for me because everywhere I go it’s “out-of-state”. Currently on my list are: UCB/UCLA/UCSD/Washington St. Louis/George Washington/University of Washington/University of Michigan Ann Arbor/University of Pittsburgh/JHU

If any of you have any recommendation for my grades and interests, feel free to post the unis that you think might suit me. I am more looking at classifying reach/average/safe schools right now.

THANK YOU GUYS VERY MUCH!!!

1450 is the equivalent of a 2080 old SAT - that puts you just above the lower 25% at 1940 (75% is 2300) - from 2016 freshman profile. So, you should try taking this again (prepare more for it) as you are competing with many other OOS applicants. What is your UC GPA? I don’ t know how the AP test scores figure in to the admittance equation, other than a check and balance (got an A in the class and a 1 on the test, for instance). I don’t know that I’d submit the test scores for those that you self-studied for as they aren’t great (and, depending upon your major at Cal, you won’t get credit for anything lower than a 3 anyway - some, you have to have a 4 or 5) and they aren’t classes that figure into your GPA.

The UC’s will be expensive and competitive.
Are your parents willing to pay these high fees for a public university?
