Unweighted 3.65 usually means a 3.95-4.05 or so UC weighted-capped GPA. This probably makes UCB and UCLA reaches, UCSD/UCSB low reach, UCD/UCI high match, UCSC match, UCR/UCM likely; see http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/21182988/#Comment_21182988 .

Chicago, Northwestern, and Vanderbilt are reaches.

Get straight As first semester senior year. Your stats are good and your ECs are great. Write amazing essays, apply ED to one of these schools, and you could get accepted to any of these schools

I wouldn’t listen to the canned response above. Your UC GPA is dependent on 10-11 grades.

Don’t listen to the wise guy asking whether your ancestry is from north or south of the 38th parallel-unhelpful post.

Schools are going to be reaches with the GPA.

Are you being recruited in wrestling by any of those schools?

All the schools listed above will be hard to get into, you’ll be on the borderline for a lot of the schools. As a data point my kid with 3.73 uw 1540 SAT from a NoCal school this year got into UCB, rejected by UCLA Vandy NW.

For International Relations, George Washington could be a high match. SAT 1 scores are well within range and the GPA is OK enough.

Another concern might be that your AP and SAT subject scores are comparatively low compared to most students in your demographic (Asian male). You can choose not to report your scores.

Legacy for Vanderbilt might help although the school is probably better known for its premed emphasis.
