Hey I currently live in San Diego and have close friends who go to all four schools.
UCB-Theyre up there with the ivies. Your GPA is a little low for them but awesome SAT score (UC doesn’t superscore). From talk with my friends and an admission officer they value passion over a laundry list of activities. I’m sure your essays were on point you have a good shot.
UCLA- Slightly below UCB, but they’re much more of the well rounded person type. They value you being very active in school and basically having no free time (exagerated but you get the point)
UCSD- They are on the same plane as UCLA but they are much more academically focused. They use a point system to determine admission. After all the applicants have been counted they set a threshold. For that reason I actually think your lowest chance is getting into here.
UCI- Not a safety school, but definitely easier to get into then the big three. Still an amazing school and in my opinion has the best international relations. Irvine one of the richest parts of California it really is a nice place to live and (I’m also Asian) they’re are soooo many restaurants and shops for the international community.
