Chance me for UCs/Some Privates

Hi! I'm hoping for either berkeley, la, or davis for the UCs...for privates I'm thinking USC, Georgetown, George Washington University, U Chicago, & Duke.

Any input would be appreciated.

Scores:
SAT I Math: 660

ACT:30

Will be retaking: ACT/SAT & taking SAT II this school year

APs:

Took 3 college classes at community college, statistics, psych, and international relations...i'm planning on majoring in something IR related.

Extracurriculars:
Significant Extracurriculars: speech/debate captain, cultural club, hospital volunteer/shift leader, camp counselor, water polo, jsa, mun, csf, nhs

Leadership positions: speech captain, president of culture club

Senior Yr Classes: AP Lit, AP Spanish Language, AP Comparative Government, Honors Physics, Speech/Debate, Art 1

I think with your GPA and SAT scores UC Berkeley and UCLA would be high reaches and UC Davis a medium reach. You would probably be a match at UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara and a certain match at UC Riverside and UC Merced. You would be a sure match at all CSUs except Cal Poly SLO which would be a low reach.

I have to agree with Lemaitre1 on the UC’s except I’d say UCD would be a high match. With the private schools you’re a low reach/reach at all of those.

Holy Cross and Bucknell might be some good schools. Holy Cross is smaller version of Georgetown with nice campus-1 hour from Boston.

Thanks for the input, anyone else?

Unless your school is super competitive and you are in the top few percent (colleges are given enough info to know where you rank) and plan to raise the SAT score, the top UCs, Duke, Georgetown and Chicago look unrealistic. USC is a reach, the mid tier UCs lower reaches and GW a match.

If you can retake your SAT and hit 2200, you’ll become a match for LA and Berkeley. Right now, you are barely a match for Davis.

You need to retake your SAT1, and make sure you do well on your SAT2s. Your GPA and AP scores are on the low side, so you’ll have to make up for them through these tests and your personal statement if you want to get into Berkeley/LA. Davis seems like a reality for you at the moment.

Great, thanks! For the subject tests, does it matter what I take? I want to go into Int. Relations, but I signed up for Math II and US…Once again thanks for all the input, if anyone else cares to comment I’d appreciate it.

Not much left for me to chance you for the UCs, since the others have already pretty much covered it. I don’t know much about the rest of those colleges though. No, it doesn’t matter which Subject tests you take, but you should try to take those which are related to your major. Also, just as an FYI, you can’t take Math I; you can only take Math II.
