Other information: I'm in essence an international student; I started my High school in Nigeria ( first 2 years; freshman and sophomore) then we moved to the US for my last 2 years (junior and senior year). I know my math and some other classes are lower than my peers in the Senior year but i didn't have the access to these classes back in Nigeria but im trying to make up for this when i joined in junior year ( took 2 AP's). Will Admissions give me some slack?

Im also applying to NYU, and UIUC some others.
do i have a Chance to get in? i know admissions in America is extremely competitive.
thanks!!

If your going to write an application leave out the following because they aren’t what colleges are looking for-
1.Hosted a french exchange student for 10 days in a program to improve culture.
2.Lead my team to 3rd place in my schools annual “Sports Day”. Won 1st place in a relay
3.Attended the National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) and rose awareness with my NSLC group about the brutal effects of skin cancer and how to prevent it in our PSA speech at Northwestern. (NSLC is just a money making sceme)
4. take out the part of the astronomy club- (dismantled and re-engineered a faulty particle detector that specializes in detecting Muons falling from space as well at attending the Master’s Class at Johns Hopkins on how to understand and diagnose readings from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at Cern through a software that models it.)
5.Taking an online Computer Programming called CS50

This may sound very harsh but im going to be honest. The achievements you have listed above mean little to nothing to university’s. They want good GPA, good SAT, and a good list of long term extracurricular not one day events. You should only include 1 day events if they are very prestigious or amazing. Winning a relay in your school means absolutely nothing and if you put that on your application you’re likely not to get in.

I’m a senior high school right now and it seems like you want to get into some sort of technology based field. Your being in pre- cal might hurt since many seniors looking to get into tech are taking Calculus BC.

Now to the actually schools I would say no to NYU and UMCP and a ‘maybe’ to UIUC.
