Chance me for UMich, Stanford, Duke, UPenn, WashU, Vandy, and Cornell?

I am a rising senior from the state of Washington, and I am a Caucasian Male from a public school of 1100 students from grades 10-12, plus a freshman campus with a class of roughly 350 students. My high school is in the class 3A (third-largest) division in Washington. My school offers relatively few AP classes (only 6 or 7 for all years of high school), but offers a college-in-the-high-school (CHS) program. The classes work as dual-enrollment and the CHS classes I have found to actually be more difficult than the AP classes I have taken.

Class Rank: School does not rank; however it is quite obvious I am number 2 behind a girl who is almost a shoo-in at Harvard, which would place me at 2/~350
GPA: 4.00 UW, school does not weight GPA (I calculated it once, and it was a 4.52 using a maximum score of 5 for honors/AP/CHS classes)
ACT: 32 (35 Math, 33 English, 31 Reading, 30 Science) with an 8 on writing portion
SAT: N/A (I was not planning on taking the SAT because all of the practice tests I took on the SAT put me in the 1900-2000 range, which would indicate my ACT score is better)

Attend the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (includes before-school seminary for all four years of high school, like a 0-hour class)
Varsity Tennis (Third in state as a team while a sophomore, seventh as a junior, possibly team captain next year as a senior)
JV Cross Country (10, 11, will try to make varsity as a senior)
JV Basketball (9)
State Competitor at National History Day (9)
300+ Hours of Community Service so far (mostly related to organizations assisting special needs children - I volunteer for special needs children because my sister is mentally handicapped)

Hooks: None (would a sibling with a mental disability count?)

Essays: I plan to write about getting cut from tennis as a freshman, making varsity on the third place team at state, and maybe becoming team captain as a senior

Recommendations: I will get great rec's from my Calculus teacher (also XC coach) and Chemistry teacher, and I am considering to have my Scout Leader write me a letter of recommendation (his would be more about me as a person, rather than just academics)

What are my chances for applying to engineering schools at Duke, UPenn, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Washington U in St. Louis, and Cornell? Also would applying EA help at all? I'm hesitant to want to apply anywhere ED.

Duke, Penn, Stanford, Vandy, Washington, Cornell ------- Reach for everyone
Michigan - Great chance

EA does slightly help

Anything I can do to improve my chances for every school but Michigan (assuming I can get accepted there)?

I think a 33 on the ACT would help as well as some more leadership positions

but you already have a chance at all those schools

Ok, thank you for the input! Does a 33 really make that much more of a difference than a 32?

so i wanna know what you guys think. be honest.

UW gpa: 3.7
W gpa: 4.0

sat M: 690

so im going to be retaking some of my standardized tests but this is what i have for now…

what are my chances??

thanks a bunch everyone and if someone has extra advice of more i should do or what i should rly improve let me know… thanks

Ahmadiance66: Are you asking for your chances at the same schools I listed on my thread, or a different set of schools?

same schools.

Dude, start your own thread. Don’t hijack this one.

Any other opinions for chances or beneficial advice?

Do you have any safety schools?

SgtDonut - My safety schools are University of Washington (Seattle) and BYU (Provo)

Okay, great. I think you have a good chance at Vanderbilt, but I’m not sure about the rest.

Thank you for the input! Do you happen to know if Vanderbilt does Early Action, or just Early Decision?

Vanderbilt only has early decision

You have a chance at all. That’s all I can say, and all really anyone can have with the most selective schools- a chance. Do your best to show yourself on the app, maybe raise the act to 33 do there are no regrets on the app (won’t kill you though) and pray! It’s a good thing you have some nice safeties set up as well. Good luck, you’ll do fine in admissions.

You are getting a lot of advices from high school students. Just remember that.

Although mostly high schoolers are giving chances, the op does have a chance at all. I think it is ludicrous when some older posters tell OPs that they have no chance with similar stats. It’s shocking even when guidance counselors tell us otherwise.

GoldOwl - Ok, thank you.
Divy1234 - Thank you! I’m really hoping I can get into Duke or Stanford (one of the two).
DrGoogle - Good point, thank you!

Also, Stanford will be really hard though. Duke is a little more in reach. Not that Stanford is impossible just know it is really difficult.
