Hm, October 1 was last week?
You have a good shot a admissions, but it’s impossible for anyone to predict what you’ll get in terms of scholarships. DO apply, let us know how it turns out!
Are you applying Computer Science in College of Science and Engineering or College of Liberal Arts? You are good for CLA but on the edge for CSE so a mild reach. A 1450 for the SAT would definitely increase your chances.
Your subject scores, personal statement and strong rec.letters are going to be secondary factors but definitely submit these as well.
Beware dropping any course that you have already mentioned on your application, unless you are definitely substituting in a more rigorous course. UMN expects applicants to take the most rigorous courses available during senior year, especially for a college like CSE (for CLA not so much an issue). In any case be sure to notify the admissions dept. if what you put on your application will not match your final transcript.
As UMN is a stats-focused admission decision, you should check out the following admission profiles to gauge your chances:
https://admissions.tc.umn.edu/academics/profile.html
Good luck!
Thanks for your suggestions.I took the SAT this October and I am hoping for a 800 on the Math section increasing my superscore to 1470~ish .
BUMP.superscore:1470, SAT score max:1440
U of MN doesn’t super score. They take the scores from your best sitting.
The link I provided in #2 shows you where you best SAT score falls for your college of interest. Also, fyi UMN doesn’t regard subject tests as primary factors for admission (though they are secondary ones).
Good luck!
