Hi, I’m an international student that goes to an American high school (I went middle school and high school in America and I’m waiting on the green card).
GPA: 3.3 (unweighted), 3.5 (weighted)
SAT: 1200 (Reading: 550, Math: 650)
Extracurricular: Volunteered at a hospital, secretary position for a volunteer club (1 year)
Do you think I can get accepted? Also, is it hard to get into engineering major?
I also want to apply for the International Admission Scholarship. I meet the requirements (average of 88% GPA, above average SAT scores), but I don’t know how much I would be funded (does anyone have an estimate?). In order to get a 100% scholarship, what would my stats have to be?
Thanks for helping me out! Have a great day!
You should call the admissions office directly and ask your scholarship questions.
Do you live in NYS?
Will you graduate high school in NYS?
How far along is your green card?
I live in a state outside of NY and will graduate from an American public high school. The USCIS is still processing green cards from 2005 and my mom applied in 2009. I have a feeling that it’s going to come out around 2021. Sorry for the late reply and thanks for reading!
What state do you live in and why a SUNY?
I live in Hawaii, and I wanted to go to University at Buffalo because I heard that they have a good computer science program.
The difference between Hawaii and Buffalo is going to be a huge shock (cold and gray all the time, wind and snow - I dont mind snow and cold but I prefer cold and clear skies like in some areas of MN or Wisconsin or Nebraska to Buffalo weather).
Financially : You can apply for merit but it usually requires an ACT 33.
Look at Marist, very good for CS and partnership with IBM.
Omg thank you so much for your help!! I’ll definitely look into Marist. GOD BLESS YOU!!!
