UMich mid 50 SAT in new scale was 1440-1570 for freshmen 2016. Your test score is below the 25th percentile. The OOS admission rate is near 20% this year. So it is a rather high reach for you.
Ok… Say I get it up to 1500, how are my chances then? I assume they’re still pretty low
OOS is yes, very hard, but it also depends on what major you are applying for. how is 6 years of varsity tennis also? Note, the Common App will only allow you to put what you do freshman-senior year. Apply EA, and I think you will most likely be deferred but have an okay but not great chance at getting accepted later on
If you bring your SAT up to 1500, you will be around the admission average and your chance would be around the OOS admission rate.
