So UM-TC is my dream school, and I would give anything to go there. I’m hoping to get into the College of Design.
Today, I received my junior year report card in the mail and felt crushed. I have a weighted GPA of 3.42 which is below Minnesota’s average.
I know it’s not the worst GPA ever- but not necessarily the best for UM- don’t most people accepted have about a 3.6?
I don’t have a great upward trend- it went from 3.36 my freshman year down to a 3.28 soph year.
However, I do have a 26 on my ACT, and I’m planning on retaking it on June 13th. I think I can get it up a point or two.
I also go to a competitive Catholic high school- will UM take that into consideration?
Finally, I also have decent extracurriculars. I’ve volunteered at a few places and have dedicated over 250 hours. I haven’t held a solid job (besides babysitting) but I played both travel and varsity basketball throughout my high school career. For leadership, I was elected to mentor incoming freshman students and help them adjust to high school life.
