<p>I’m sorry, but your friend’s prospects are not very good, if she is applying to the Chapel Hill campus from out-of-state. UNC-CH was my son’s first choice. He was rejected, but he knew it was a reach. His unweighted GPA was slightly lower than hers, but he was in the IB program at a private school, and his weighted GPA was around 4.0 (depending on weighting method). His ACT was 31, and SAT was 2060. He had terrific extracurricular activities. UNC has a statutory mandate to accept at least 82% of its freshman class from within NC. If she is applying to a campus other than Chapel Hill, her prospects are fairly good.</p>
