President of Best Buddies: a large club on campus involving more than a hundred people. It is utilized to enhance and raise awareness of the lives of the special education students on campus. I have been involved with this club for 4 years as Public Affairs, Treasurer then President. I am absolutely in love with the program and its cause. I have made the club bigger and better than ever. We have really raised awareness at our school and in the community. We even got them involved in our pep rallies! (10-30 hours weekly)

Treasure of Speech and Debate: I have been involved with the club for more than 3 years. I do decent but not phenomenon at the tournaments. It’s mainly to improve my public speaking skills and to make myself well rounded. I qualified for state competitions.

Art (Art Club): I paint and draw A LOT on my own ever since I was 5. I’ve never taken formal classes until this year; I simply try to figure it out on my own. I have won prizes for my artwork when I occasionally entered them for contests (6 years old: won 3rd prize a youth contest in a big city in China and got myself published in the newspaper; won 3rd place in a county tournament in Ohio back in middle school). Recently one of my ink drawings has been honored with best of show at our local fair. I do a lot of sketches of buildings (my own creations and some of my favorite, existing buildings)

I have some great artwork and will have a great portfolio that I will send to UPenn.
Do I have a chance?

Looks really promising to me--except for the SATs that is. Get those up and I think you should have a great shot at the bestest university ever. Good luck!

yea higher sat's will help

What O_O
Those SATs are good!

zester, i thought so too! o_O

but anyway. i'm not really one to tell., but it looks really awesome

They're good, but they could stand to be good-er <-- (800 SAT verbal score right there)

Higher SAT's would really put you over the top in my opinion. Your rank, ecs, and grades are wonderful, with an improvement in the SAT department, I can't see a reason they will have to decline your application. Regardless, i'd still give you a good shot with the scores as is.

Thanks for the help everyone! I'll be retaking my SATs in a couple of weeks and hopefully, they will go up! Wish me luck:)!!!

Good luck! jia you! 加油!

hehe :D ...thanks!
