Essay: I think it's pretty unique. dk about Columbia though

I have some great artwork and will have a great portfolio soon that I will send to Columbia.
Do I have a chance?

pathetic, no shot whatsoever, don't waste your money.

In other words, you have a great chance.

Thank you. Is there anything else I should do? I also want to have a minor in civil engineering

to confidentialcoll,
why no shot???
I think kitkatz has a chance.

"to confidentialcoll,
why no shot???
I think kitkatz has a chance"

from this response you might never actually have a chance.

can you explain a little bit clear??? kitkatz's academic background is fine and either ECs.
why do i think you are little aggressive here?
and maybe i wont apply columbia...so thx for your "no chance for me"

The question at the end "do I have a chance?" vs "How are my chances?" might have peeved confidentialcoll...Haha

Your chances are great; I'd say you're in, assuming you can write great essays.

goback, confidentialcoll was being sarcastic in post #2.

oh yeah, i see...sorry about the previous dumb...
totally i'm faked with confidentialcoll's humor... ;)

Thanks for the postings guys:) Do you think it's possible to have a minor in or double major in civil engineering? I mean, architecture program and engineering are in different colleges. Do I have to apply to both schools?

No, don't apply to both schools--apply to the one you want to major in.

Your SAT Is are a bit low, but your SAT IIs are fine--I wouldn't take more of them if I were you. I'd say you definitely have a fair shot, though, if you can raise all of the subsections to over 720.

I like your work in the "Best Buddies" organization and your ranking/school profile. Your interest in art/architecture comes through strongly in your ec's, so well done. Best of luck to you.

Thank you nicole5178 for your input:) I appreciate it!

Your SAT I is a bit low.

I'll retake it in a couple of weeks. Hopefully my scores will go up! Thanks everyone for the inputs! They are very helpful.

...I think confidentialcoll is wrong (sorry buddy)

I think you have a good shot. Redo those SAT's, and kick some butt on the essay because you're obviously very passionate about everything that you do.

cerb!! :(

She ended with "do I have a chance" which I thought was obnoxiously modest, so I replied sarcastically. I thought it was fakely modest, because she clearly had a good chance, significantly better than average, I mean she's valedictorian. It wasn't meant to be anything malicious or realistic. sorry I was misunderstood.

...I think sarcasm shrivels up and dies on this forum :)

I know confidentialcoll's not one of them, but there are plenty, plenty of snide pessimistic twits who prowl this space

sorry confidentialcoll, I didn't mean to sound ridiculously modest :) It's just that last year, our valedictorian got rejected to Columbia. This is such a competitive school, I was just a bit unsure.
