Volunteering at hospital- 200 hours, volunteered in the neuroscience floor and the patient concierge transporter desk.

Research: biomedical reserach. submitting to intel later this year.

I did all of these activities because of actual interest in them. I did not do anything for the sake of college applications and i hope that shows in admissions.

What do you guys think? do i have any chance at all for CAS? please let me know...

I think you have a really good shot! Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1431373-chance-top-schools.html

Your stats and tennis etc are same as my son’s,but I don’t see AP scores?? He got accepted Early decision. Only problem is there will be over 20,000 people trying for 1200 spots regular decision. Good kuck

You have a pretty good shot and if you win something for the Intel research you’re in for sure.

Chance me please!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1433489-do-i-have-chance-getting-into-top-university.html

Congrats to your son! I got a 5 on bio, calc bc, apush; and a 4 on ap human geo.
@chillgal that would be cool! however im competing in intel for the fun of it and it will not have any influence on my college decisions i believe. Thanks for your responses!

you will definitely be competitive. i just dont know if you can beat out 20000 other applicants  where else are you applying?

also, chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1409730-chance-me-top-schools-thanks.html

I’m applying to Dartmouth, duke, brown, Johns Hopkins, Chicago, Columbia, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale.

Looking back on other threads I feel like I definitely am competitive at upenn CAS, Johns Hopkins, and Dartmouth. Hopefully I get in somewhere!

My girlfriend got in early decision and had lower grades and less extra currics you look good!

Thanks for the assurance Kevinli!

Where are you getting the 7.5/10s from? Are these your ratings or the ones your teacher gave you (and if they were what teachers gave you, is that the norm for all reccomendation letters or is that your school)?

Those AP scores are very strong like my sons. If it was ED I’d say your chances were very good. RD @ all those schools becomes VERY competitive. I’d be suprised if you didn’t get inti to a couple of those schools. As a safety you might want to add Carnegie Mellon,Gtown,Univ. Rochester??

34orabove, my teacher let me see her letter, and I think it is about a 7.5/10 in terms of quality.

Rebel, thanks! I hope that by applying to so many places I get in somewhere. I have already been accepted to university of Michigan as a backup.

U Mich. is a good safety, I just wouldn’t want u to get shut out in the unlikely chance you didn’t get accepted to at least one of your choices from above.
