Chance Me for USC, NYU, UPENN, Brown, Berkeley, LA?

Hello, everyone! I am specifically aiming for USC and NYU more than the others because of their excellent business-film opportunities. Thank you in advance for chancing me!

GRADES/RANKS/COURSES:
Unweighted GPA- 4.0
Weighted GPA (5-point scale) - 4.33
UC GPA (if you're applying to UCs)- 4.33
Currently Rank 3 out of 595 Students (I'm pretty bummed about not making salutatorian too hahah! So close!! Hopefully, I still have a shot if things go out well for the rest of senior year)
Distinguished Honor Roll Every Year
Junior Year APs: Physics, Calc AB, Lang, APUSH
Current APs: Spanish, Civics/Econ, Lit, Calc BC, Bio
Took ALMOST the hardest course possible (missing maybe AP Chem and AP Euro in sophomore year)

STANDARDIZED TESTS:
SAT (taken 3 times): Highest Single-Sitting Score and Superscored- 2150
CR: 700 M: 660 (pretty clear what my weakness is huh LOL) W:790
ACT w/ Writing (taken once): Composite Score- 31
R: 35 M: 28 S: 28 W:31
No Subject Tests
AP Test Scores: 5s on Calc and APUSH, 4 on Lang, 3 on Physics (I am also a little iffy on the whole deciding which scores to submit or not for these.. any advice?)
Planning to Submit Scores for Bio, Calc BC, Lit, and Civics/Econ this year

EXTRACURRICULARS:
Lieutenant Governor of Key Club (pretty high position where I oversee seven different schools)
----> actually served as officer for Key Club for 4 years, first as Historian and VP before Lieutenant Gov. I won 1st Place Distinguished VP out of about 50 candidates in a state-wide convention
NHS Member
Girls' League Member (only prestigious at our school but selective club of role models)
Previous Yearbook Copy Editor and Reporter
Weaker ECs- one year of Decathlon, two in CSF
Volunteer Independently with Temple

PERSONAL STATEMENTS/REC LETTERS:
UC Prompt #1- wrote about how movies helped my family overcome language barrier and why I am passionate about film today
Prompt #2- wrote about a conference I held for Key Club with about 100 people
USC Prompt- same as UC #1
---> Three adults have reviewed my PS's and liked them! My lit teacher says they are some of the best she has ever read.
Rec Letter from Key Club teacher advisor for USC (we're fairly close so it should be good)
Rec Letter from Key Club non-teacher advisor for NYU (he has written thousands of rec letters so I think he's a strong writer)

ADDITIONAL INFO:
First Generation College Student
Vietnamese, Immigrant Parents
Intended Major- Business Administration
Minor- Cinematic Arts
Applying by Dec 1st for USC to be eligible for scholarships

Bump?? Please anyone?

I’d say that you definitely have a good chance considering your GPA and ECs, and I guess that USC and UCLA are good matches, but I don’t know that for sure… seems that scholarships make things harder to predict…
I’m wondering why you don’t have SAT subject tests, though. Normally people have at least 2 subject tests when they apply, don’t they?
And I guess that I’m also applying to UCB & UCLA… good luck!

The time just slipped away and I didn’t want to take a subject test “just cause.”

I don’t quality for a fee waiver so taking the subject tests would have been quite costly. I also wanted to focus on a test that would actually be appropriate for my major/career. But boy, am I fickle LOL. I switched from being interested in journalism to political science to business… so before I could sign up for the History test or etc etc, I’d be on a different plan. Then eventually time ran out. I am hoping this will not affect my chances.

Thank you for chancing me though! If anyone else could as well, I would appreciate the extra opinion.

Thought I would mention that I believe both Brown and Penn require 2 subject tests or the ACT with writing. I don’t know if you’re planning to send the ACT because it seems a little on the low end for those two. If you scored well on 2 subject tests, it would definitely be a plus.

Thank you, villuhfc.

Brown and UPENN are definitely my expected reaches on here. My dream schools are currently USC and NYU and I agree that a 31 is a little low.

I took the ACT with writing a second time this Saturday, so I am hoping I did well on that! As for subject tests, it is probably too late for me.
