I’d say you’re probably fine for UNC, Virginia, and NYU. USC is a reach.

Are you instate for UVA or UNC…if not your stats will make those a reach especially for UNC which accepts over 80% instate.

@lopeztlo7 yes I am from NC

Considering your instate, you’ll probably get into UNC. UVA OOS would be a low reach as well as USC. NYU Stern would be a reach whereas CAS would be a match.

What’s your major? Are you looking to continue doing sports in college?

@InamoratiAnon I’m trying to go into a business major. And no I don’t want to continue sports in college

In the GPA and scores department, you have a good shot getting into these schools. I’m a bit weary about USC considering you’re an OOS student and your ECs are kind of lacking. Could you in any way write your LEAD club from a business perspective? I’m just trying to see how you can focus your ECs a bit more to emphasize your interests.

By business perspective I mean did you play any administrative role? Did you act as a sort of guidance counsellor for these people? You can emphasize that you worked to show their marketability as sports leaders or something.

@InamoratiAnon yeah I was thinking along the same lines. Thanks so much for the advice!

No problem!

I would say you should definitely get into UNC. UVA OOS is difficult, but you certainly have the stats for it, it could go either way, it is uncertain for everyone OOS. I don’t know enough about NYU to say; said differently I think you would get into NYU I just don’t know if you would be directly admitted to Stern.

If USC means South Carolina, good chances, if it is Southern California, then basically low low chance. UNC would be pretty good chance cuz in state. UVA… it’s gonna be rough.

By USC I mean Southern California. Sorry I should have made that clear. Thanks everyone for the replies so far. Anyone else?

NYU- this is great. Ranking will hurt you. Usually likes 5-10%

USC- I think you will have no problem.

Virginia- I think your rank is going to hurt you. Good academic stats though.

UNC- rank will hurt you. Academic stats are good. Instate status will help you.
