Chance me for UT Austin/How can I improve?

Hello everyone, you probably see a ton of these types of post, but I hope that you will take the time to look and respond to mine  UT Austin, over the past year, has quickly became my dream school. I definitely wish I knew that I wanted to go here during my freshman year, but I did not. Everything about UT is so amazing to me and it would be great to spend another four years with my genius best friends who are all auto admits. However, I am not. I slacked off a lot during my first two years of school and that completely WRECKED my rank and gpa, but I have been working hard to make my up for my terrible stats with my SAT score, ec’s, volunteer hours, essays and everything else. Here’s what I have so far including some info about me:

-class rank: 166/548 (30.2%) TERRIBLE I KNOW! not that it wouldve helped much, but my class size dropped 50 people because they didn’t qualify as seniors :frowning:

-African American female (parents are immigrants from west Africa)

-in state

-getting a rec letter from my environmental science teacher and ap lang teacher (teachers during my junior year)

-applying to Jackson School of Geosciences for Environmental Science

-SAT scores: 1320 for first SAT without studying (680 RW and 640 M) and then I just took the october SAT and I’m waiting on the results. I took a month long in person study course and I studied a bit so I’m hoping for a 1400+ pleaseeee cb

i have been hustling to do so many things to boost my application and its a lot, but i actually enjoy everything that i do so that’s awesome. please tell me if i even have a small chance of being accepted and what i could do to improve my application. thank you so much!!

i also had a job during the summer and im applying for a new one now…if that helps with anything

UT is all about ranking. Admission with a rank in the top 30% is highly unlikely. You’d likely be CAP’d but I think CAP’d students can get into Geosciences. (A concern is that many CAP’d students never make the grades required to get into UT and end up stuck at their university).
Look at other universities: Texas State, TAMU, Trinity University…

UT is a pretty snooty school. You’ll likely get CAP’d and sent to UTSA for a year. I recommend NOT doing this because, even if you get into UT, you’ll be forced into a liberal arts major. Texas has tons of options.

If you don’t get in, go to ACC and then transfer in.

Are all majors accessible from ACC?
