Guys I will give it a shot I don’t care if I don’t get in. I’m also applying for their psychology (BS) program.
Hooked= recruited athlete, Nobel prize winner, child of President of the USA, child of very large donor…
Unhooked = not having anything exceptional to offer the college
@3scoutsmom oh I see
I really have nothing beside that my dad is a faculty member of a different cooked at my old state.
What about the college I gave you?
@jaysaini8 I think you should also seriously look into the University of Houston, UT Arlington (most affordable), and UT Dallas. All three have great engineering programs and vibrant Indian communities. University of Houston and UT Arlington are lead by Indian-American presidents.
I’m not a fan of A&M’s culture for minorities.
You need to have a back-up plan just in case you don’t get an offer into UT Austin engineering.
@NuScholar Yeah i’m considering UT Arlington engineering (then i will try transferring) but I may have a hard time doing so.
@jaysain8 Every year UT gets even more competitive … it’s doable but it’s very unlikely you’ll get in. But if I was you I would rather be a big fish in a little pond (UT Arlington) then a little fish in a big pound (UT Austin). For you, it’ll be easier to be at near the top of your class at UT Arlington than at UT Austin which matters for internships and job placement.
Think strategically and wisely.
@NuScholar true, true. I will apply to UT Arlington, have not send my fafsa to them so
