I've taken a good amount of AP classes (AP Calc, APUSH, AP Gov, AP Stats, AP Bio, maybe AP Psych) (the rest are dual enrollment/honors other than orchestra and business classes) and I've gotten all A's and B's through high school..but the thing I'm worried about is that I took all three years of my foreign language in middle school, before I cared about my grades, and got C's almost every semester. Is that going to immediately take my chances away? Is there a way to help that out? Or should I not even consider this school?

buuuuuuuump

In state or out of state?
If you’re in state you look pretty good. Boards are low though, re-take and aim for above a 2000 at the least.
The middle school transcript… you should include an explanation about the situation.

ECs are sort of meh, but if there’s anything you’re really passionate about make sure that comes through (even if it’s not an EC, WM actually prefers you don’t write about your ECs on your essays).

Out of state has become nearly impossible in the past few years, but if it’s really your first choice apply ED if you’re in the financial position to do so.

Also, it’s an absolutely fantastic and wonderful school! (Says the current student who loves it disgusting amounts)

I’m in state, and yeah, I’m retaking the SAT’s haha.
How do I improve my EC’s?? And should I apply ED if I’m in-state, or will that lower my chances? Thanks for the advice  I love it way more than I should considering I don’t even go there hahaha. I visited Mary Washington with a William and Mary sweatshirt on…dedication right there hahahaha

I live in the area and go to high school here. W & M is pretty good school. I agree with Jillsfein, you should increase your SAT score. Other than that you look pretty good in the EC’s department and Academia. Good Luck. Also try for a 2100 or so on the SAT.

Hahahahaha okay  Thanks :)

Early Decision definitely increases your chances b/c it’s easier to stand out in a smaller applicant pool. Keep your grades up for the rest of junior year and try to go for an interview. Good luck!
