Good recommendations and essays

Any input is appreciated, Thank you!!!

State of residence? Also it depends on whether you get the ROTC scholarship and order your schools in preference of attendance. Might be a low match for Emory/UNC and low reach for Northwestern and a reach for Yale just because we’re talking Yale. UCs will be expensive for OOS unless you get the ROTC scholarship and make either Berkeley/UCLA your primary choice.

Scores/grades are in line with your schools. ECs are fine-what most students with good grades do without having a national level award like Regeneron STS/Siemens/International Science Olympiad medalist.

Interesting choice of Berkeley for a school. They do have ROTC but remember their liberal culture and antipathy towards the military, especially if you aren’t from California.

Thank you! I live in Connecticut

@IJustWant2Grad
I wouldn’t consider any of these schools low matches, that’s laughable really.
Yale- High Reach
Northwestern- High Reach
UC Berkeley- High Match
UCLA- High Match
UNC- Low Reach
Emory- High Match/Low Reach

The grades and ACT scores are good. I don’t know if the subjective criteria (extra curricular) is strong enough for the elite schools like Yale and Northwestern. In the navy, whether you go to Yale, Eastern Michigan University or the Academy, you’re still an Ensign when you graduate. Also, you may want to consider Texas A&M. Their Corp of Cadets graduates more top officers than any other university next to the military academies.

Granted, I can only use myself and a friend as an example, but ur stats look solid. I did less than that and had a lower act and managed an elite school. Same deal with my pal. If possible (Idk if senior or junior) apply EA, and that should help. Sorry of I can’t give better advice, but know u are doing a great job in hs! Good luck, fellow chem major!

You are a very competitive applicant to all of these schools
