Do you live in India or live in the states? Long Island = hummmm Lots of competition from this area.

Quite honestly, you have too many ECs. What’s wrong with too many? You’re not as directed as compared if you had one or two focuses. Are you interested in engineering, gov (student council), science (hospital, cancer), etc. It’s like you saw a list of clubs that “looked good” and you signed up.

You need to paint a picture of who you are and how all these ECs combined resemble you. The biggest problem will be that none of these are dramatically unique.

I live in the US.

Let me explain my ECs:
I really like math so I joined math team and engineering club.

I think the science and the gov ECs are good for me because if I do get accepted to Brown, I will consider either doing political science or neuroscience.

I mainly joined clubs because in the fall and spring, I don’t play a sport and I wanted to do something with my time.

I would suggest against retaking the sat. It’s already exceptional for an international and retaking would seem as if you are immensely obsessed with a particular number. Work on your essays and the additional sat 2’s you want to give. and I agree with limbobean, your ec’s seem forced. Try following things you like. And good luck.

I am not an international. I am an American of Indian origins. Sorry for the confusion.

I want to take it once more just to improve my superscore. I feel I can do better on the writing.

I don’t think anyone can have “too many ECs” as long as you are devoted to them and do things with them.
“Chance me” threads aren’t really helpful. Very few people here actually know anything about the inner workings of college admissions, and even if everyone did, we don’t see your essays or your teacher recs. I sort of regret my chance me thread because it really got my hopes up, which would have made a rejection or deferral even more devastating than it would have been.
IMO you’re a qualified applicant, but it’s an absolute crapshoot for anyone. Show passion for Brown and your personality in your essays and be able to convey meaning about your ECs in your application.
Good luck. :)

I honestly think that you have an great chance. I don’t think you have to many ECs, just show how each one gears towards your passion and show how each one is significant to you Good luck! I’m a future EDer as well.

Instead of listing all the ECs, show what did you do and what did you learn. Experiences are more important. Show them in essays. Don’t just go for leadership titles because “Leadership is not a position, it’s an action!”

your in.
Don’t sweat it.

Great chance of getting in imo.
