Interview: For Georgetown, it went well

You have pretty strong ECs and volunteer/work experience for Georgetown, although if you’re applying for IPOL in the SFS, your ECs dont’ really fit, since there’s nothing that really demonstrate political interest except for the internship you turned down. GPA is strong, but test scores are a bit low for Georgetown, especially the three subject tests.

Thank you for the response! I was so upset that I had to turn down the internship, but I wasn’t allowed to miss field hockey practices to travel to Hartford. I am worried about my test scores… hopefully everything will balance out

Don’t fret it if you don’t get into Georgetown, it’s a tough school to get in. In high school everybody thinks there is a “perfect fit” college that will shape your life and success. You’ll quickly realize that, although your experiences will shape who you are, there are plenty of avenues to get to where you want to be. Besides, there are plenty of other directions in life that you may be unaware in. I’m always skeptical of high schoolers who think they have their life figured out already to the specific profession. Keep an open mind!

Your list is impressive, and I have no doubt you’ll be successful and happy at any one of those schools. NYU is another tough one, as well as BU, BC, and Marist.

@mapmama Did you get in?
