Just to give some context as to why I’m asking for people to "chance: me:

Transfer Adviser at my CCC was very condescending, un-supportive, rude, and arrogant when I went to talk to her gelatinous bottom today. Reeaaaaaalllllly ****ed me off and I just wanted some other opinions that weren’t so bad. Thanks in advance.

Uhm I would say you have a decent chance, Berkeley specializes in helping low income students and people with problems so really look into the TAP program. X

Above a 3.5 is considered competitive and if you have a good enough transfer paper you should be gold, UCB takes that into much consideration compared to the other UC’s which basically only use it for financial aid purposes.

Also to seal the deal look into Special Action Admissions for the UC’s.

Hope that helps! And for your depression and aggression your CCC may offer free counseling as part of their student health fees, at least mine does I think it’s 5 free sessions at my campus but each CCC has their own policies check yours out.

Unfortunately, your GPA is lower than the average accepted applicant to HAAS (it’s a 3.8). If you craft your essays right, though, I think you have a shot.

For your essays, I recommend focusing on selling yourself to the HAAS admissions committee. Let them know why you would be an asset to the HAAS community, and emphasize your characteristics that show who you are.

And don’t set your soul on Haas. Remember, people with 4.0’s get rejected all the time.

@Matt4200: Thanks for the reply! I’m looking into the Special Action Admissions as we speak. As for my depression and anger issues, they were resolved in my senior year of high school through months of soul searching, reading, and meditation; I hope to incorporate my life-long struggles into the essays.

@BlahBlahBlah1: Would you say the essays would be the deciding factor as to whether I gain admittance to Haas?

You are a strong applicant with quite the story to tell. I believe your extracurricular activities are impressive, particularly the unpaid internship among all of them.

As you know, Haas is the most selective college at UC Berkeley (6% acceptance rate). BlahBlahBlah1 is right, the average GPA is a 3.84 AND the middle 80% of GPA range is 3.56-4.00. Do you absolutely live and breath Business Administration? That’s up to you. I would also consider the Economics major at UC Berkeley, considering you do show a lot of interest in that field.

Are all of your prerequisites done? This includes:

All prerequisites for letter grades
Language: The foreign language requirement
Units: Completion of at least 60 semester (90 quarter) units

For Fall 2013, 1023 applicants did not show planned completion of the admission requirements and were considered ineligible. Of the 485 eligible applicants, 91 (19%) were offered admission.

Luckily, you have three essays to submit in total to Haas, instead of just the normal two for other applicants. Really make every single one count, and you should have a shot.

@ucbears You said Haas people have 3 essays to write? What is the last one? 2 is from the regular UC essay and what is the last one? When is that due?
