<p>Now unlike most people on here, my stats aren't the greatest yet I am still applying to some top ivies and some other very good schools. I know I'm definitely going for a very far reach but who knows?</p>

<p>For: Brown, Williams, Yale, UPenn, Lehigh, Lafayette, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins and Princeton</p>

<p>Legacy : Stepfather went to Yale and Georgetown
2 cousins (who are sisters of each other) went to Brown</p>

<p>Major: Statistics/Biology/Psychology ....maybe an integrated field of biomathematics</p>

<p>High School: Private Jesuit High School, (Jersey City, NJ)most students go to BC,Rutgers and Foordham though we do have our share of students in very good schools
...specifically georgetown is very good with our school </p>

<p>Rank: no rank, top 10% though, about 240 seniors</p>

<p>GPA: again, its a 90.5, there's no 4.0 ranking at my school</p>

<p>SAT reasoning: 600 Verbal(I know), 750 Math, 710 Writing, My verbal sucked I know</p>

<p>SAT Subject: Math 2-710, US History 710 Italian 600 (messed up) (Retaking in January)</p>

<p>(Question...I have a very good reason for my italian sat and so I'm retaking in january, how do I contact them and notify them of my reason for retake?)</p>

<p>AP: Calc AB 5, English Language 3
Will take: Calc BC, English Lit,US History, Biology, Italian and Statistics</p>

<p>*I hold the record for most APs taken at my school, freshman and sophomores cannot take APs, junior year I took 3 and senior year I am taking 6. Basically I have taken the maximum I can.</p>

<p>Activities:
-Summer H.A.P Program (academic and athletic program at my school , the whole month of july every summer)- 9,10,11, 12, served as a head tutor
-Varsity Bowling 10,11 and 12
-Varsity Tennis 11 and 12

Bowling: Number 1 Average in County 11 and 12
Tennis: 3rd place doubles in county 11</p>

-I am profoundly hearing-impaired and wear a cochlear implant and my essay centers around making the transition from wearing hearing aids to wearing a cochlear implant</p>

<p>Sorry to say this, but I think your test scores are going to kill you at the schools to which you're going to apply. Are those your only choices? If so, I'd recommend a few back-ups.
Then again, your post probably doesn't tell the whole story, and there may be something about you that sticks out (essay?) Looking at it that way, it's hard to say what your "chances" are. Better start looking at some "safeties" though.</p>

<p>Does anyone here know how importance legacy is to an applicant for the ivies? I heard that your parents have to be pretty special alumnis to really matter. In the sense that they have to donate and participate actively in helping graduates of the college get jobs. Not the my parents were from Harvard and I am going to get in easy. Is that true?</p>
