Congrats! You have great choices for college. Enjoy senior year and don’t try to think too much about Ivy day!
Reach: Harvard, Yale, Columbia
Low reach: Duke, Penn (unless you apply to one of the more selective schools, like Wharton… then it’s still a reach probably)
High match: Notre Dame REA
Match: BC, Tulane, Northeastern, NYU
Low match: Fordham, UF in-state
Safety: FSU in-state
It’s a pretty good, balanced list.
Your GPA and ACT are a bit low for the reaches, low reaches and notre dame, but you’ll get the REA bump at ND and the URM bump everywhere (to varying degrees depending on school). Whether and how much they also take into account SES will determine how much of a bump that URM status will give you.
Obviously writing great essays and soliciting strong recs will help.
So far I’ve actually gotten I have actually gotten into all of my early schools: Northeastern, Notre Dame, BC, Fordham, and Tulane @prezbucky
Congrats. You’ll do well.
Thank you so much! @preppedparent
Then you’re already in good shape.
I would say you’re golden. The only one I could see you having trouble with is Duke. You’re barely in the 25th percentile for test scores and the UW GPA is slightly low for how many competitive applicants they have. That being said, you also have a hook, great ECs and AP scores to help balance them out.
Congrats on your schools! You deserve it so much!!
Thank you, it feel greats. @IvyPlaywright
Yah I actually ended up not applying to Duke. @ab2002
