Schools that I'm looking at by Tier:
Reach:
Yale
Penn (Wharton)
Princeton
Brown
Stanford
Columbia

Target:
UChicago
Claremont McKenna

Safety:
UVA
UMich

Do you think, my tiering of schools (chance-wise) is fair?

No its not fair. Admissions are such a crapshoot only a fool would pretend like he actually knew what to expect. I promise that you will be rejected from one of your match and one of your safety schools while being accepted by at least two of your "reach" schools

Ironic.

Anyway, OP, you look like you're in good shape, but bear in mind that you're competing with many other applicants with similar accomplishments and stats.

chicago is a reach. and do you have any EC's? stats aren't everything. i would add one or two schools below michigan. michigan's acceptance rate this year, (or so i hear) is going to be between 30-40%... and UVA is not a safety.

yeah, what other people have said. I think you probably
will get your safeties, but... Better to be safe then sorry - how about Boston U, I think that would be a good safety ( or a school around its competitiveness.) i would be surprised if you didnt get into at least one nonsafety, but... Bsts

I'm an Eagle Scout, and a member of the City Council's Recycling Advisory Committee. I founded/preside my school's Econ Club. I've been on the varsity basketball team for the last two years and my school has a pretty good track record of sending kids to Chicago so I'm kind of banking on that to make it a target, but in this day and age, i agree, i wouldn't necessarily call it a target.

I want to double major in econ/envi studies, so my EC's are very much tailored to my future educational goals.

is Michigan EA or EN (early notification) i ask this because i was thinking bout SCEAing at yale, but if i did that i would lose out on EA oppurtunities, but not EN/rolling oppurtunities.

i also started from scratch, my town's first annual reduce reuse recycle initiative, that is now held once a year on the weekend after (or of) earth day, and involves 500-750 participants, and takes several tons of waste out of the solid waste stream.
