Chance me, If you please

Hello there, I’ve decided to put out a “chance me” thread.
I am mostly interested in small liberal arts colleges, despite being a mathy-person. I will probably major in math education or business/economics equivalent at a LAC. Having a strong music program is important to me, as is the general feel of a campus to me. I prefer schools without a greek system. Outside of school, I am very involved in the arts and also my church. I also don't want to be in the middle of nowhere.

I will apply ED to either Tufts University or Vassar College.

Please Chance me for:
Tufts
Vassar
Haverford
Boston College
Brandeis
Skidmore
Georgetown
Amherst
Swarthmore

Also, can you suggest any safeties that I might like?

Seriously, you’ll be fine. Your stats are great. Amherst might be iffy, but it’s certainly not out of your range.

Adding a safety might help round out your list, but you probably won’t need it.

Thanks for the encouragement. And I agree, I’m not really including my safeties here…I’m still trying to decide which might be appropriate to my interests, any suggestions? I like the east coast, smaller schools, the liberal arts, etc.

If you want my opinion, Brandeis and Skidmore ARE safeties, but I guess it depends what inner-collegiate programs you apply to in those schools. If you’re going for business or math education you’ll be golden.

As for Tufts ED, I’d say you’re in! Just really knock your essay out of the park. Vassar I don’t know because I haven’t attended their admissions talks or read about them or anything. For Tufts, make sure to mention what you’ll get involved with if accepted-- they <3 commitment and individuality in their essays (from what i’ve heard). You should be fine though because Tufts really values commitment in the form of applying ED, as they are a popular ivy-leaguer’s safety.

Also: “Summer Institute for the Gifted @ Amherst—1 year”

Do you suggest this? <3 I LOVED Amherst… fo’ serious, haha.

@ heyimpeter, it was an interesting experience, it got me really excited for college (a few years too early) because we lived in the dorms and took classes. they were pretty easy but it was fun, only 3 weeks long so they didn’t count for credit. are you applying to amherst?

And yeah, I’m interested in econ or math ed, which are never highlighted at liberal arts schools, but I’m just an anomaly like that.
