chance me please

Hi - thanks in advance for trying to chance me :)

These are the schools I'm looking at:
Vassar
Brown
Connecticut College
Brandeis
Skidmore

PROFILE:
White female
Mom-SUNY Albany and Einstein School of Medicine
Dad-Columbia University and Einstein School of Medicine.

Suburban High school that does fairly well in college admissions (5-10 to ivies plus good other uni's and LAC's)

Class rank: 7/520
GPA weighted 4.93 out of 5.2 (school only does weighted)
National Honor Society

SAT Reasoning: 2150
-Reading 700
-Math 720
Writing 730

Subject Tests:
-Math 1 – 740
-Lit – 700
-Bio – 690

I have two somewhat lower subject tests (570 and 590), but I took those on the same day, so I’m hoping that those will be overlooked, considering my other test scores and my GPA. I’m sort of unsure if those scores will be taken into account.

EC's
-Theatre Club (9-12) – I’ve been heavily involved with all of the theatrical productions at my high school, either through performing or helping out.
-Religious School Assistant Teacher (9-12) – I’ve actually done this since seventh grade, two hours a week during the school year. I’ve helped teach second, third, and fifth grade.
-Dance (11-12) – I dance about two hours a week during both the school year and the summer.
-Voice (9-12) – I have been taking private voice lessons for eight or nine years, and I participate in the school choir. Additionally, I will be in Area All State Choir and possibly All State Choir this year.
-Academic Team (9-12) – I have been on the Academic Team since freshman year. Meets are generally about six hours long, every few weeks.

Work:
-Assistant Teacher for Religious School (unpaid, see above)
-Summer Theatre Intern

Summers:
This summer – Skidmore’s Pre-College Program in the Liberal and Studio Arts.
Last summer – Harvard Secondary School Program

For both of these programs, I received college credit - I ended with 3 A's and a B+

My teacher recs should be very good – At least one of the teachers that I’m asking wrote my rec for the Skidmore program I did. My guidance counselor knows me, so her rec should also be very good.

My essays should be on par with everything else as well.

(Vassar is my absolute favorite – can anyone suggest a safety that has the same feel?)

bump (10 char)

id say your mostly in everywhere but brown please chance me !

I agree with freakonomics. And I think you are in for Vassar!! Good Luck!!
And chance me too !! :)

I say you definitely have no chance at Vassar....

J/K. You'll get into Vassar no problem ;)

thanks!
I still want to have safeties though - considering the summer program that I did, Skidmore is sort of a safety, but I'm not sure.
Can you suggest any safeties that are similar to the schools i mentioned?

you're getting in everywhere darling ;) Evie, no more worrying, k?

and think about SUNY geneseo as a safety, that would be fun :D

thank you maia :)
I'll look at geneseo - it's a bit far for me though.

You have good chances for almost all of your schools, Brown is still tricky, but you have a good shot at it too due to your high class rank and grades. You don't want to look at Columbia, I mean you do have legacy, and that will only help.

Also if you could chance me, then that would be excellent =)

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/552587-chance-average-student-ma-schools-bc-bu-northeastern-babson-bentley-etc.html

Brown would be the only question mark.

thanks jchen for the suggestion - i'm mostly looking at smaller LAC's though.

Also, I don't really want to go to a school in a huge city like ny.

Vassar is wonderful--the campus is drop-dead gorgeous (as I'm sure you know). If you're not committed to the East Coast, also take a look at Kenyon in Ohio (stunningly beautiful), Carleton (Minnesota), and Grinnell (Iowa).
