Chance me I'll chance back- LOW GPA HIGH SAT ND CHANCES?

Hey guys so I’m kinda new to forums but I’m hoping I can get some feedback on my chances of getting in ND.

I’m currently an international school student attending an IB school. I’m a diploma student taking 4 HL courses. My predicted score is pretty low around low thirty something.

My GPA unweighted is currently around 3.97 out of 4.33. The thing about my GPA is that it dropped around junior year and senior year due to some personal social issues which caused me to be less hardworking, motivated…etc. So I’ve been having a mixture of Bs and As in my junior + senior year.

My SAT score is 2200
My Subject scores are Math: 770 Chemistry: 730 Biology: 700
I took the subjects again so I’m hoping I got better scores

My extracurriculars include:

Model UN: Four years
President of a service club at our school which has raised over 1000US
Leading a leadership conference thing
A few minor awards for writing and math
4 years of team basketball
Service: 100+ hours
Research: At a bio lab for hundred of hours, submitted one research to a conference and had one published

So what is my chance of getting into ND?

So if your GPA is 3.97/4.33, your GPA on a scale of 4 is a 3.6. That’s relatively low for ND, but ND says that they would rather look at class rank than GPA. (That could work out in your favor, or not.) Since it looks like you take rigorous courses, that could help you, too.

I’m sure your SAT is above average (though ND uses 2-part SAT), and your subject tests are certainly better than average. I think that your extracurriculars are pretty solid, too. You show that you commit to the things you enjoy, your service aspect is pretty cool, and I think that they will especially like the part about research. That might be a good “hook” for you.

All in all, I think that you do have a very good shot if you can prove to the admissions board that you attend a very rigorous high school, and that you stand out among your peers in school (class rank). Maybe ask your guidance counselor if there’s anything she can do for you in the counselor recommendation section to help prove those things?
You have a great shot if you’re able to do that. That’s my two cents

Oh, and if you don’t mind, chance me back

SAT isn’t everything, but what is your 2-part score? ND ignores the writing section when looking at SAT scores. Like the above person said, ND mainly looks at class rank, because GPA’s are scaled differently all over the place. If you know your rank, posting it would be very helpful (either exact or decile). Course rigor is also very important to ND, so if your schedule is as hard as you make it sound, that should help a ton.

EC’s seem alright. The published document thing helps, but other than that, nothing really stands out, possibly because where I’m from, raising $1000 isn’t much, although that could be a lot depending on where you are fundraising. I’m not entirely sure what Model UN is, but unless it relates to something else, I’m not seeing much of a passion for one thing in particular. Just for reference, here are my EC’s:

High School baseball for 3 years (4 once spring rolls around), including Varsity
Recreational basketball for 4 years.
Created a youth group at my church designed to keep seniors/college students involved in their religious lives
Peer minister for 2 years, and am on the core planning team (which includes many, many hours)
Usher at my church’s youth masses, and have been named head usher
Leader in FCA for 3 years
Currently in NHS, MHS, Science Honor Society, and Spanish Honor Society (Treasurer there)
Student Ambassador for 1 year, be part of Welcoming Committee there as well
Tutor for 2 years, requested by teachers to join a special program at my school for tutoring. I tutor Spanish and math
Member of the academic team
I work at a grocery store
Led a business project to fundraise money, but I don’t have any room to put it down
A few other service actives, but again, not enough room to put them down

You can see I have a passion for my religion, which I hope ND values, considering it is a Catholic university. My SAT (2110 3-part, 1440 2-part) isn’t as high as yours though, which hurts my chances. All in all, your SAT is most likely higher than average, not sure about GPA because we don’t know your rank (but things don’t look particularly fantastic), and EC’s are a little above average. In my opinion, if you can write compelling essays, you’ve got a good shot. Best of luck!
