please chance me

I've got a really interesting high school experience, since I began high school (mainly my freshman year) not working hard at all and having a GPA of 3.05 at the end of my freshman year. Even though I didn't do too well my freshman year, I was still in two honors classes that year and was somewhat involved. Sophomore year I got a 3.93 first semester, and second semester I had a 4.6 with three honors classes. Junior year I got a 4.8 throughout the entire year and was in four honors classes. Basically, I wasn't a good student and now am. Sophomore year I really picked up my work ethic and joined a lot more things, so here's my involvement as of Junior year:
- President and Founder of Chinese Club
- Junior Board Leader of NHS
- Freshman Mentor
- Peer Tutor
- Member of Challenge Day Committee, PRIDE, Yearbook, Math Team, and Eco Club

I was also a swimmer my freshman and sophomore years, and played hockey in the spring of my freshman year. I got a 29 on the ACT, which I know isn't great. I've also got over 150 hours of community service at my hospital. Additionally, I worked really hard during my Junior year and developed very strong relationships with my teachers, so I got a great recommendation letter from my English 11H teacher and from my counselor. I am not a die-hard ND fan, but it would be cool to get in, so do you think I have any chance at all?

I think ND is a reach for you.
They say and “upward trend” looks great…but let’s be realistic. There are kids with straight A’s all four years with the same EC’s and same scores if not better that are also applying.

I know what you mean, I definitely think it’s a reach. But when you say that do you think I have any chance or should I pretty much accept that I’m not getting in?

I think the chance is still there! Just nail the essays and make sure your senior year rocks like your junior year!
